Gamedec is an adaptive cyberpunk RPG. As a private detective, it’s your job to solve crimes inside virtual worlds. What decisions will you make in a world where child slavery is a F2P game, where murder over a game-clan dispute is an every-day reality? Who will you become in the XXII century?

When I just started I thought "wow it will be my new favorite game" well I was wrong. The world building is very cool, games inside a game is awesome, but storytelling is lame and raw, it totally destroyed all the enjoyment for me. Still it's nice and has a potential... and game is hilarious and smart in some ways

This game's UI is... a bit of a mess. I just got a bunch of skill trees thrown at my face with no real explanation of how anything works.

I'm over 5 hrs into the game and completed the first couple of cases. I'm sure I'll update this after finishing the game, but, for now, here are some of my impressions thus far.

The Good: The concept is pretty neat. I really like the idea of cyberpunk meets detective (there's some film noir touches that I love). We get a mix of themes and genres as we go through the different cyberspaces, and it makes for a pretty unique experience. The leveling/perk system is different. I personally like it but can see how others may find it frustrating. If you use the same style of play the whole time, it can be hard to unlock more perks. Variety nets you more points across the spectrum of point types, allowing you access to different perks and their higher tiers. Choice is big in this game, and already I've seen many other potential pathways to tread and character builds to make that I look forward to trying in future playthroughs. I'm very interested in seeing how my choices play out further in the story.

The Bad: While the game has subtitles, the voice over from the answering machine isn't included. Hearing impaired people require subtitles in order to enjoy media, and this was an oversight that I believe can be easily fixed. There's really no excuse not to have your games be accessible in this day and age. On a personal note, I was pretty disappointed that they offer the player to choose their pronouns, and then leave out any non-gendered options. There's not much of a point in that regard, and only comes off as a very deliberate slight.

Overall, I've been enjoying the game and looking forward to what comes next.

UPDATE: I restarted the game after the devs put out new content, including for the first level which I played through. I was hoping that they would have at least fixed the subtitle problem, especially after they replied to my review on Steam, but they did not. So disappointing. Considering they never acknowledged my concerns in their reply should have been the giveaway. But, way to stick your head in the sand over a very real accessibility issue that shouldn't BE an issue at all.
