Still haven't spent a dime and I'm racking up gold for quests.
I haven't mastered the Arena. It's too much luck. All cards you take you must play, which means when stuck with a janky pack I have to pick something that might not have synergy with something else because I don't know what's coming down the line.

Still haven't spent a dime and I'm racking up gold for quests.
I haven't mastered the Arena. It's too much luck. All cards you take you must play, which means when stuck with a janky pack I have to pick something that might not have synergy with something else because I don't know what's coming down the line.
It's often compared to drafting MTG cards, but that's not accurate. Drafting cards doesn't mandate a slot in your deck. You can read signals from other players (what colors they're taking, cards being tabled, totally cleaning up when someone isn't drafting a certain color, new players who don't know the power of cards they're passing, etc). Arena is like drafting with yourself and you must play all cards. It can be fun when you are winning, but all too often I've gotten swept and wasted 150 gold.
Either way, Blizzard nails it with this game. I must admit, some quests or cards are childish with random AI characters popping in to make a lame joke. You can't skip the stupid banter!
I love this game. It's a toned down MTG with lots of great deck building potential and lots of games where I absolutely crush people with a bird that silences a minion or just windfury for the win without taking a single point of damage.

Date started is based on the official release date of the game. I've actually been playing sine the closed beta. The finished date is based off the last day of the Curse of Naxxramas adventure.

I uninstalled Hearthstone yesterday. Just one step forward in releasing the crippling stranglehold that video games have had on me for 20+ years.

I'm playing more Hearthstone than ever. I hit rank 10 last month, which is insane for me. I can't believe I did that. Tempo Mage deck, if you were wondering, but not the super popular one. Just hit rank 15 with a newer Tempo Mage deck (more 1 mana spells for better comboing.)

All I'm playing right now, Arena style. I am a certifiable M:tG nut and this game's computer implementation is lightyears better, although the gameplay isn't as deep. The ability to start a draft and play matches as my schedule demands is HUGE.
