Short, not worth what I paid but okay puzzle game
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

A pixel point and click puzzle game that foregoes any supernatural elements to focus on a medieval doctor trying to aid those suffering through the bubonic plague and facing the wrath of elements of society opposed to his ‘scientific’ solutions. It does the popular thing where it depicts the medieval church as anti-science which is not really historically accurate but that’s a common modern error so I can’t blame them in particular for falling for it.

The artwork is so pixelated that it was actually difficult to tell what items in the environment were interactive on my Steam Deck. Luckily, the devs make it easy to highlight every interactive item; although, when you turn in this feature a message pops up saying it’s offered but not necessary. To which I say “Ha!!”

Artwork aside, the puzzles are moderately difficult. Unlike many other puzzle games I’ve played, the ending you get is informed by choices you make outside of the puzzles. I don’t think I got the ‘good’ ending but I’m not sure.

I paid $10 for this game and I do not think it’s worth that. I was done in less than 2 hours. The story is decent but not …

I paid $10 for this game and I do not think it’s worth that. I was done in less than 2 hours. The story is decent but not amazing. The gameplay suffers from what I already described in the second paragraph. Definitely get it on sale if you like point and click puzzles.

Short adventure, not bad, but nothing special too
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

Adventure about a medieval plague doctor. In pixel style. The biggest drawback is that it is very short. It can be completed in a couple of hours. Another nuance, which I don't like, is that it is not possible to save the game manually, so in order to try a different approach to important decisions in the game, you would have to play it again. Which I won't do. The puzzles are generally interesting, not very complicated, I could solve them without walktrough. On the one hand, the story was also not bad, on the other hand, due to its short lenght, you couldn't really get attached to even the main character, let alone the others. In the end, I got a bad ending to the game. My choices and their impact on the ending? Some, after thinking about them, seemed like the right impact, some not so much. Verdict? Worth it, if you get it on big discount and are ready to try a less popular adventure, that won't be boring, but at the same time won't be among the best you've played.
