Beautiful & Boring

NB: This is a new review because they added a single-player campaign.

I Am Not A Monster pays loving homage to cheesy science-fiction from the 50s and 60s like Flash Gordon. The presentation is excellent in pretty much every way. Gameplay elements seem well-thought-out. Clearly a bunch of effort went into this.

It's also terribly boring. There were (and are?) no people to play with so you have to play the single-player campaign. It's sluggish and extremely poorly balanced. Missions can basically only be won by playing in the exact way they want you to play. You generally only control one character as well. There's so little player input that even after 90 minutes it still feels like a tutorial.

I really wish i could recommend this but you're better off getting pretty much any other turn-based strategy game.
