I was really interested in this game based on the visual design, setting, and reviews indicating the battle system is really innovative. And all of those things are true.

But MAN is this game rough. The way it presents the story and mechanics is erratic to the point of being disorienting. And not in a good way. It frequently drops terms and names without explaining what those things are, and the dialogue is delivered largely in this really sloppy visual novel style that lacks any panache; no voice acting (outside of very brief cinematics), the text is gold on a maroon background making it visually noisy.

I couldn't tell you if it's a matter of poor translation or poor script, but the writing sucks. The game is made in Hong Kong, and presumably translated from a Chinese dialect.

The gameplay is interesting though, and if you can stomach poor presentation values to dig into the mechanics, you might have a great time here. The music and visual design were really interesting too. But as a story-first kinda gamer, I couldn't handle more than the 2 or 3 hours I spent on it.
