I've been hunting deer lately in the mornings. I make myself a cup of joe, load up the old rifle and head on out in to the country, and surrender myself to the wild that is mother nature. Cabela's 2004 Season for the PS2 has 9 different regions to hunt in through different seasons, and to complete career mode you fulfil specific requirements in each spot ranging from Alaska and Florida to New Mexico and Canada.

Now, there are other animals than deer roaming around... like foxes, wild boar, badgers and some vicious bears and cougars - but if you hurt any of them you get a warning and can ultimately lose your game. As you progress you unlock new weapons, items and gear but nothing too exciting; and there's no major point to playing other than enjoying the quiet and beautiful environments and have fun hunting some game. I didn't think the controls would hold up with the Dual Shock but I was surprised how well the weapons handled. Will definitely play more of these.
