Finished Halo 2. The story quite confused me, but at least it was varied. I liked playing as the Arbiter, allthough it did largely feel the same as playing MC.

Finished Halo (1). Played on Easy since it's not THAT gripping, and there are still 4 more games in the series. Main conclusion: I am missing a Run button and the Flood are super-annoying.

Finished Halo: Reach. Quite a dramatic ending, even though there's a clash between the cutscene drama and the hum-drum gameplay of most sections.

Welp, beat Halo Reach on legendary solo. First time since the game originally released. 5 more legendary runs to go in the MCC now lol

After suffering through Halo 4 again I finally managed to get past it and move onto Reach, which was a blast to replay after all these years. Sadly now, though, Reach is over and I have to once again suffer through the miserable suckfest that is ODST. Blah.

While I generally dislike the Xbox One guide system and achievement viewing - and really miss the jewel of the 360 - I really REALLY wish I could easily separate the achievement list for the Master Chief Collection.

There's so many achievements, and they're all part of the Master Chief Collection, so to find anything related to one particular game, you need to scroll endlessly until you do. I wish I could just say "show me CE achievements" or "show me Reach achievements" because as of right now, it's almost impossible to easily find achievements that pertain to each game, and even MORE difficult once you realize they throw in multiplayer achievements as well, thusly cluttering the list up even more.

And while I dislike the guide system and achievement viewer on the console as a whole, I also recognize this is a very specific issue related to one very specific game, because most games do not have 6 titles worth of achievements in their list, so sure, maybe it's just a first world problem, but it's a first world problem I wish I didn't have to deal with lol

Welp, I'm done. Managed to plow through Halo 3 and 4 back to back over the course of a day or so, plus the ass end of Halo 2. Now I can start focusing on playlists, misc achievements, legendary runs, spartan ops and more. Halo 4 was still awful, but at least it plays well lmao that helps a lot …

Moving on to the most dreaded one of all this side of ODST, Halo 4, and boy howdy...it sure plays great, but it's still as nonsensical and unnecessary as it was when it came out lmao

It wasn't fucking playable 15 years ago and it's not fucking playable now.

Halo 1-3 down. Thank God games have gotten better since 2001. I don’t know if I’d survive another campaign where you just backtrack the entire level.

Still slowly chugging away at the collection with my friend. We've taken some deserved breaks to play other games but we're getting there. Currently up to Halo 3 and there is definitely an increase in scope which the developers were obviously going for. I like it. Still on Heroic and still dying regularly.

I'm playing Halo CE, my first time ever. Somehow the updated graphics make the experience worse? Because when I play with the old graphics, I accept the fact that I'm playing a very old game and don't really care if it aged badly and try to appreciate good things. But with updated graphics, it becomes confusing. What I'm seeing is …

Because when I play with the old graphics, I accept the fact that I'm playing a very old game and don't really care if it aged badly and try to appreciate good things. But with updated graphics, it becomes confusing. What I'm seeing is decent, but what I'm playing is very dull and bland. Sometimes I switch momentarily to new graphics, out of curiosity but I'm pretty sure I will continue with original graphics.

Decided to start playing through Halo CE since I haven't played it since maybe 2002/2003. Still holds it's charm and it's refreshing to play through something with discrete missions and not missions shoehorned into an open world. A few thoughts:

Decided to start playing through Halo CE since I haven't played it since maybe 2002/2003. Still holds it's charm and it's refreshing to play through something with discrete missions and not missions shoehorned into an open world. A few thoughts:

  • Hunters seem easier - could you one shot stomach kill them with the pistol in the original version?
  • Par time on some of these levels seem crazy fast. Maybe it's because my natural inclination is to kill all the enemies and not just run by.
  • Were there this many invisible enemies in the original?
  • I have found zero skulls through 5 levels - haven't searched hard - but not sure if they're in Halo CE or just Halo 2+

Looking forward to playing some multiplayer
