The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the first 3D open-world game in the Zelda series. Link can travel anywhere and be equipped with weapons and armor found throughout the world to grant him various bonuses. Unlike many games in the series, Breath of the Wild does not impose a specific order in which quests or dungeons must be completed. While the game still has environmental obstacles such as weather effects, inhospitable lands, or powerful enemies, many of them can be overcome using the right method. A lot of critics ranked Breath of the Wild as one of the best video games of all time. Read less

Finished the story last week, and I was surprised by how easy the final battle was (despite everyone saying so). Looking forward to checking out the DLC on this one. In the meantime, I’ll check out some other games and take a break from so much non-linear wandering.

Still an amazing game. 4/5 stars.

Just found the last shrine I was missing! I decided to hold off on beating the game till I conquered them all. I'm enjoying it too much to rush through, but also I've had limited time to play for extended periods, so there hasn't been a great time to sit and really commit myself to that final push.

It's funny how, with one or two exceptions, the last few shrines I was missing were not the hardest or most tucked away... they just happened to be in areas I missed while traversing the game.

Completely ignoring my backlog for yet another playthrough of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in Master Mode. I am my own worst enemy.

Finally got a Switch a few weeks ago, and this is actually my first Zelda game. I really like it so far. It’s got a lot of the elements I’ve always loved from a good action RPG. I’ve only put a few hours into it (like maybe 20) and I still have so much to do. I’m gonna be busy …

Finally beat Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and got the "good ending". The extra bit was kinda lame in my opinion but I still enjoyed that game a ton. Not sure if I should take a break or immediately pick up the DLC.

The tricks the designers of this game pull are incredible. It keeps you on a path without defining a path... your previous discoveries, materials, failures, etc. are what determine your next step. ❤

(I know I'm late to the party on this one, but it's fun finally experiencing what all the fuss is about!)

My experience playing so far...

  • Hmm, seems kinda slow and empty so far.
  • Okay, that was a "shrine." Seems... okay?
  • Ugh, where are more shrines? How do I get past this part? Do I have to cook stuff?
  • Oh cool, I made it over. Wow, I can see like three or four shrines from here.
  • Nice, I got an upgrade. …

  • Nice, I got an upgrade. Wait, do I want to see if I can get that chest now or do I want to try taking out those bokoblins? I should start making notes on my map...

And just like that, it's pretty much won me over only a few hours in. 😆

Holy crap there this game is incredible. There is a ton of world to explore and it feels like I am always stumbling upon some unique area. Love it.

Well I beat Zelda after almost 200 hours of game time. I love this game. My new favorite game ever. I finished with over 400 Koroks and 118 Shrines. I feel silly missing those last two. Can't wait to keep playing it!

So I got the fourth mythical beast in Zelda yesterday. My Switch says I have over 170 hours in the game. I still have one tower and one whole area of the map to go through. I'm at around 100 shrines and 350 seeds. I love this game so much. I simultaneously want to see the end and keep exploring. …
