So maybe I walked into a Target at 8 am yesterday and grabbed 1 of the 6 Switches they had just sitting there. I know I flip flopped back and forth like a goober whether I should buy one or not, and in the end, the ability to play Zelda wherever I want was too appealing.

That being said, I'm having no regrets having gotten it. It is basically exactly what I wanted.
I was at a family friend's 60th birthday party last night, and the person who was hosting it also had a Switch. He had it out, and a couple people were looking at it. More than 1 person remarked how they couldn't believe that was all it was for $300. People just have such a weird perspective when it comes to video games. Their phones cost twice as much as a Switch. Their iPads cost more than double what a Switch does. Yet, when it's a machine that's explicitly made for video games, it's a waste of money.
Anyway, my argument against getting this because all I'm going to play is Zelda just flew out the window. I know have a brand new Zelda machine, and I'm really happy with it.

It will be interesting to see if the tone is the same after a year or two, when the newness factor wears off. Not that I'm claiming the game isn't phenomenal. I am sure it is, but we can't discount the effect of pure giddiness and excitement for the first really innovative Zelda game in years (decades even?). Below are a smattering of links to sites awarding the game a perfect score, for anyone curious.

In anticipation of Breath of the Wild next month, I've posted a Zelda poll in the forums. Come tell us which is your favourite Zelda game, and discuss why.
