This was my first Zelda game and I have to say it was a pretty good game. Very fun to truly just go anywhere and explore whatever I wanted. I got lost for hours just running around in the world, finding cool areas, and climbing enormous mountains. Combat wasn't my favorite, not even due to the weapon durability feature, I didn't mind that. I avoided combat with enemies as much as possible when I could, usually by just running past them. I had a lot of fun on the shrines, though a few were frustrating yet rewarding when I finally figured them out (unless I had to resort to googling the answers). I really enjoyed the Divine Beasts puzzles. Story was meh, not sure if this is average for a Zelda game. Characters were also kind of one note and bland to me. Urbosa was easily my favorite champion in the game, and probably my favorite character. Mipha was ok, but I didn't really like Daruk and Revali all too much. Kass was cool, and his riddles were fun to solve. I sunk about 80 hours into this game and it took me about a month and a half to complete. I got the majority of the shrines done (missing like 10) and completed the Champion's Ballad DLC. Didn't play at all in Master Mode, and I didn't do the trial of the sword (which I heard can actually be quite fun). No way in hell was I ever planning to 100% this game. Finished with maybe around 200 Korok seeds found, I can't believe there are like 700 more laying out there in Hyrule. Mainly wanted to get this off of my backlog to play Tears of the Kingdom (which released today as I'm writing this), but I might wait a bit to dive back into Hyrule. I won't be waiting 6 years this time around like I did with BOTW lol. TOTK already has stellar reviews, and I'm excited to experience it eventually. I just don't want to burn myself out on Zelda, so I might finally play Elden RIng since I've been putting it off until summer when I'd have time to play. Overall, BOTW is a good game. I had fun just running around Hyrule and taking myself wherever I wanted to go. On a final note, I recorded the majority of my gameplay. I am considering diving into video editing and uploading a cut of the gameplay to YouTube. Could be a fun summer project. If anyone has any tips/ticks for me in attempting this, I would very much appreciate that (what video editing software to use, how to write scripts for YouTube videos, how to upload/grow a YouTube channel, etc). Thanks for reading my review!
