The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the first 3D open-world game in the Zelda series. Link can travel anywhere and be equipped with weapons and armor found throughout the world to grant him various bonuses. Unlike many games in the series, Breath of the Wild does not impose a specific order in which quests or dungeons must be completed. While the game still has environmental obstacles such as weather effects, inhospitable lands, or powerful enemies, many of them can be overcome using the right method. A lot of critics ranked Breath of the Wild as one of the best video games of all time. Read less

You really do get the adventure feel from this game, and it's just so rich! Unfortunately, I suck at action games - I don't remember which buttons to push (there's so many actions, which I like and I want to master them, but gosh this is not easy for me). I can do shrines but battles are always won haphazardly, and I'm worried I won't ever be able to beat Calamity Ganon at this rate.

I like the game but I'm starting to fear that this would be a struggle for me. I am terrible at aiming anything, and I've just been dying a lot due to falling or the cold or stuff I didn't even see killing me. I want to get better so I'll push through and I just so hope I increase …

The first Legend of Zelda game I managed to complete before getting extermely bored.

Pros:

  • Beautiful art style
  • More serious tone than most Zelda games
  • Memories are really well voiced and played
  • Combat system is not a Dark Souls clone
  • There's a map with markers and some resemblance of a quest log

Cons:

Pros:

  • Memories are really well voiced and played
  • Combat system is not a Dark Souls clone
  • There's a map with markers and some resemblance of a quest log

Cons:

  • Some quests, including the main one, is somewhat fuzzy
  • For a game about cooking, there's no recipe system.
  • Weapons are so fragile there's no reason to look for good weapons. They'll break soon anyway
  • Legendary weapons that don't break permanently are so expensive to fix they may as well break permanently
  • For the same reasons, monsters are mostly nuisance. They don't drop enough rupees/ingredients to justify breaking weapons
  • Getting Master Sword is a slog of beating 40 puzzle dungeons
  • Final boss is beatable only using counters, which aren't used for the entire game

Late to the party but tried this game out for the first time for like 10 minutes. Definitely can see the appeal. I only stopped because I was afraid of getting too sucked in. Don't know if I want that just now.

Borrowed from a friend and gave it back. DEFINITELY won't buy this game for $60. Probably won't ever finish but I'd like to.

I'm excited for the presentation for the Switch Pro in June and one of the core features is 'experience Korok Forest without dropping frames!'

I don't know when it happened, but this game took over the #1 spot on the Top 250. It had to have been in the last week or so, and it has to be by a fraction of a point. I actually didn't think it would happen (despite predicting it 3 years ago).

One of my favorites for sure. I'm doing trial of the sword now and thinking of playing again on Master Mode.

Hateno Village is one of my favourite spots in Breath of the Wild, and in particular, I love Link's house. This is a pretty neat mod that adds a few nice little features to the existing house:
