The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the first 3D open-world game in the Zelda series. Link can travel anywhere and be equipped with weapons and armor found throughout the world to grant him various bonuses. Unlike many games in the series, Breath of the Wild does not impose a specific order in which quests or dungeons must be completed. While the game still has environmental obstacles such as weather effects, inhospitable lands, or powerful enemies, many of them can be overcome using the right method. A lot of critics ranked Breath of the Wild as one of the best video games of all time. Read less

I loved this game a lot. The massive open world is the perfect next step for the Zelda series. I didn't care for the weapon mechanics, but I can't deny that this is one of the finer Zelda games.

I thought that enemies new feature on Master Mode (HP regeneration) would make it impossible for me to progress more than maybe one beast, as I definitely suck on combat and tend to take my time waiting for the moment, but it has opened a different, more reckless way to play this game that I have enjoyed so far. It is really good to have just a few beasts and big mandatory enemies, as I feel kinda drained after every boss haha.

It was okay, but I can't really understand why people were making so much fuss about it. Didn't got much excited about the story either.

Picking this game back up after almost 3 years to finally play the DLC. I just finished the first set (master sword trials) and I'm getting started on the next (champion's ballad).

Picking this game back up after almost 3 years to finally play the DLC. I just finished the first set (master sword trials) and I'm getting started on the next (champion's ballad).

I absolutely loved Breath of the Wild when I first played it, definitely a 5-star game for me. I'm a little less hot on the DLC, mostly because it's all about uniquely challenging combat scenarios so far, which isn't really what I liked about the game. The master trials are like an extended version of that island where you lose all of your gear, which was neat, but pretty exhausting for 20 floors. Still, very satisfying to finally finish though. The second expansion starts with a series of four combats, each followed by a shrine, during which you can only take a single hit before dying. Again, this doesn't really play to what I like about the game. In fact, I think having so little margin of error is pretty maddening given how imprecise Link's movement can be at times. I'm currently stuck in the second shrine, which has a lot of spikes that are very easy to accidentally bump and be sent back to the start of the shrine. I understand the actual story side of this DLC is pretty good, so I'm looking forward to that.

I have just started the Master Mode 1 year after finishing the normal mode and, yeah, the beginning is hard. White Lynel in the plateau is just, damn.

Without a doubt, the greatest video game I have ever played. Tons of exploration, secrets to find, tough enemies to fight. It has all the things you want in a video game.

Been just roaming about trying to find shrines and haven't even gone to kakariko village yet, but didn't expect shrines to have tests of strength and kick my ass with those beam machine monsters,,, an insta-kill, I was shook 😂

Done 7 shrines now, really enjoying it so far 👌 I love how everything looks and is so far, though not the stamina bar, it runs out so fast 😭

I've started playing Breath of the Wild again, so I'm going to try to rank my top 5 Zelda games in order of favorites, just for the hell of it.

  1. Breath of the Wild
  2. Ocarina of Time (I played the 3D version)
  3. Minish Cap
  4. Link Between Worlds
  5. Skyward Sword

I've started playing Breath of the Wild again, so I'm going to try to rank my top 5 Zelda games in order of favorites, just for the hell of it.

  1. Breath of the Wild
  2. Ocarina of Time (I played the 3D version)
  3. Minish Cap
  4. Link Between Worlds
  5. Skyward Sword

So, the big huge giant issue with this list is that I haven't actually played (or finished) many Zelda titles, specifically Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. But, this is just a simple favorites list that I wanted to jot down. Also, I think it's funny that I played 3/5 of these on my 3DS. Feel free to comment your favorite(s) if you'd like!
