Very solid in some ways, feeling very nice to control and maintaining everything you'd expect from a good one of these. I don't think leveling up cars like you do in this game works as well as, say, leveling up guns in Call of Duty in a similar way, due to just how many cars there are and the fact that the upgrades don't feel as exciting as a new scope or something does there. It feels like a sort of unnecessary grind as a result, and I can't imagine people actually interested in tinkering with cars (unlike me) are too into that. The career mode would probably be more fun without the "forced" practice laps, which yes you can back out of once they start, but miss out on expected car XP that you're supposed to get for doing them. In some sense I was in the mood for the simplicity of Forza Motorsport, since while games like Forza Horizon 5 and Need For Speed Unbound have more pizzazz and flavor than this, sometimes the flavor in those games is really dumb and you just want to race cars in peace. But I still feel that this is much too sterile and car-commercial-y. It's a game where I can sit down and relax and have fun, and that's enough, but just don't expect me to get too excited about it.

I would have preferred to have that be qualifying laps that put you into your start position. Choosing your start position seems weird for a game …

I would have preferred to have that be qualifying laps that put you into your start position. Choosing your start position seems weird for a game that is supposed to be a Sim. That being said the game looks great and car handling with a wheel is great as well.

So far my only complaint about this entry in the series is that, unlike Horizon, it discourages you from making contact with vehicles and wants you to follow the rules. This is good, this is fine, this one is meant to be more of a simulation...

That said, the AI is clearly unaware that it has been imported from Horizon into that more realistic sim because they will demolition derby and pit manoeuvre you at its convenience. It's equally entertaining and frustrating lmao
