Disappointing

This game is nothing and lack so much compare to the other two. No real storyline. The awkward controls was extremely frustrating. But even after all that the ending🤦🏽‍♀️. Yeah I hope the next one better.....

I finished it but at the cost of my sanity. If you liked Syberia 1 and 2, do not play this one. The mechanics are nothing like the first two and the story is boring. In this one, you accompany the Youkols in their migration and are pursued by some shoddy villans. The story with the Youkols is not as interesting as the first two games and the villans are just there because the people who made this game wanted them to be. The reason why they're pursuing Kate is stupid.

The mechanics feel clunky and while walking you bump into everyone and everything because you can't properly see where you're going. The camera also shifts perspectives when you're walking into another area and doesn't give you enough time to orient, making you accidentally exit the way you came. They removed the option to skip the dialogue which was such a bad decision because the voice acting is atrocious and the conversations are tedious. If you do end up playing the game, please for the sake of your sanity, enable visual cues because I would have rage quit this game a long time ago without them.

I cannot fathom why they suddenly decide to do an open-world walking simulator when the reason people liked the first two games was precise because of its purely point and click mechanic. They should have kept that and just add updated graphics. The story would still be boring but I would at least be able to bear it.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. I basically rage quit this game when I got to the point where you have to change the gears for the ice breakers. After trying at least 15 times, I went to a forum so I can figure out if im doing it right. My train of thinking was right but it turns out that this particular mechanic is nearly impossible to do with a mouse. After trying another 20 times, I can conclude that this game is all kinds of wonky. This isn't the only instance where the mechanics of the game made me frustrated but it sure was the straw that broke the camel's back. I wanted to finish it because I enjoy the story. Now im not sure if I ever will. I'm not inclined to buy a controller just to complete this one puzzle.

I understand the devs wanted to make this game more modern so they can bring in new players and get with the technology. But the players who are checking for Syberia 3 already enjoy the previous old games. Syberia 3 is a direct sequel to the second game, so new players won't be as inclined to pick it up without playing the first two. At that point, they would only be willing to play the third because they loved the story and gameplay. Then you pick this up and suddenly you find yourself in an open-world scenario with totally different mechanics. We already liked the mechanics of the first two, so why fix it if it ain't broke.
