A great game will forever be great, and Red Alert 2 delivered on that.

Red Alert 2 Aged way better than it should've that it practically didn't Age at a Day. The fact that modding community also helping this game to run well on modern day hardware have made this game age Even better with time.

It's all about control, and this game is very simple to learn and control. The Gameplay is absolute top-notch, yet it's very simple. You don't need to hassle yourself with some micro-macro management, but there are still some elements of it to give the game more strategy involvement and challenge.

enter image description here

Other parts of the Gameplay are separated with Factions themselves. Allied are Teach, Destroy the enemy from the inside first, Steal their teach, Use it against them, Air Attacks, Chronosphere, Mirage, and so on. They don't attack directly rather weakening the enemy then attack.

Soviet are more Straight forward, Aggressive attacks with Kirov (Kirov Reporting), Rhinos, Apocalypse, Bombing Units, Dreadnoughts, Mind controlled squid, Nuclear Silos. They are heavy more hardcore units with better Durability, and Tougher defense than the Allied.

Yuri doesn't bond with any of both, but he can mind control, steal building, teach, money, Use the enemy's Own to destroy him, and has THE best Anti Air defense in the whole game. can be considered as an OP and banned from most online competitive games.

The game offers Variety and Strategy for every factions and non of 'em play the same and even with some stable units like the Engineer which can be a game changer in some scenarios, others that can change the games are the likes of "Unit Veterancy" which can change how a unit behave whether from firing prospective, moving, or regenerating health.

The AI is so predictable, but you can easily mod it and make it as wild as your imagination can get.

The story and missions are so fun, The story has it's Own feeling, Can get cheesey sometimes, but it's very enjoyable, and you can get to watch Tanya, Lt.Eva, and Lt.Zofia "lol".

enter image description here

The missions are also fun to play through and offer enough to do in map with much to explore in each mission and get rewards for exploring too. The missions doesn't want you to get bored and that's all you need to know.

Frank Klepacki's Music in this game is what Mick Gordon's Music to Doom games. They just make the Game way better to play and makes you feel powerful and ready to annihilate. Blow it Up, Motorized, Destroy are my jams.

Bringing back the modding community again, They're the reason this game is playable today, The reason why this game can be enhanced in several ways, The reason this game can be still enjoyed online, and the reason that this game can be enjoyed in more than one Form.

It was Fun playing this game again. Experiencing it again and understanding the story made me love this game even more and see why it is Very good and held well over time. It's a great game, Simple fun with challenge and Strategy, and a Good pick up and play kind of game.

It's still on of the GOATs and would recommend anyone, New or Old players to go and play this Masterpiece again.

Why didn't I know that this existed!!

And here's the full show!

I'm not at all a concert-going person (too loud, too many people, too many queues), but I could make an exception for this.

The Soviet campaign is a complete wackey fun.

you go from a War with Allied to Science Fiction mind control to a betrayal. They really had fun making this.

This game is really a masterpiece and my favorite RTS game and maybe video game of all time. The graphics are still holding up pretty well even for today's standards. But where this game really shines is the gameplay. It really improved on the C&C formula from the previous games while learning from the mistakes made in Tiberian Sun. What you get is one the most fun RTS game I have ever seen.

Allies and Sovjets are really unique to each other. This is not like in previous games where most of the units and structures are just copy and paste work. Even the standard units like soldiers and tanks have their own advantages and disadvantages for each faction. While the Allies build cheaper and faster tanks the Sovjets on the other hand have more expensive but powerful vehicles. But the creme ala creme in this game are the insane units and abilities you can use. Seriously do you have ever played an RTS game where a unit could teleport around the entire map and make buildings “disappear”? A giant zeppelin that destroys structures and units within seconds? Or how about dolphins and squids fighting for your side? Every unit in this game is just a joy to use. They really went beyond the default unit types you see often in other games and went full nuts. Yes, this game is not balanced at all but who cares? I really prefer having fun in a video game like in RA2 than to play the next “e-Sport” ready strategy game like Starcraft 2.This is what video games is all about for me: To sink some hours into it and to completely forget about your current life and situation. Just having fun…

Last but not least the campaign is also very entertaining. You can tell that the actors had some fun time behind the camera. I always have a big smile when I see General Carville speaking. “Get me my office back!” And Frank Klepacki did once again an amazing job with the soundtrack. “Detruisez tous, c'est une obligation!”

Finished the Sovied campaing. The next to last mission is waaay to hard, I was basically forced to exploit the AI by continuously bombing at the path the enemy would take. Not good design, if you ask me. For what I've seen in youtube, the mission was actually easier in the original non-patched version of the game.

Nothing dates a piece of media like an alternative past with high tech (weather control, laser weapons, giant tesla coils) but with videos in giant tapes

It's been more than 15 years since I played (and loved) Red Alert 2 but at that time I was a wee lad who hadn't the constancy of finishing games. So after all that time, I finally finished it (the allied campaign, at least).

Also, bring back FMV in games!
