Campaign is fun only with downgrade/mods

This game had an OK campaign, but then developers updated the game to balance multiplayer (which also applied to the singleplayer campaign). This made singleplayer campaign a lot harder and a lot more tedious.

Improves and holds up slightly better

Carrying on the Tiberium saga, the third output introduces full 3D playfield. The features brings up the quality-of-life factor to modern standards, including waypoints and unit behavior settings. Majority of the units have their tactical advantages and I found more than a few favorites from each faction.

A welcome approach in the campy yet increasingly bombastic story (a C&C trademark) is that it's told in each faction's perspective (as done in Firestorm), contrary to prior games going for separate outcomes respective to the faction choices. This had me look up the fan-compiled timeline and shifted between the campaigns to follow the main story coherently.

It's one of the better Command & Conquer games released IMO. Remember to patch up the game to fix the mission difficulty levels and get an HD remaster on it.

I find RTS games don't age that well post 2D period as more recent games have better mechanics (cover etc) - while the 2D era have style and quirk that cannot be replaced.

This is also from the time where they did less "puzzle" style missions which can be very fun in CnC Tiberium Sun. After playing through CNC 1, 2 and firestorm - the story go so many holes a colinder gets jealous and the whole "kane's dead" thing surely has to end at some point.

I do like that they maintained the firestorm style campaign though in having both campaigns work together. While tacky and dumb I like the story bc of it and the FMVs are still great and the way the final campaign unlocks is awesome, I didn't know there was an additonal section!

Overall I feel my love for this game may be nostalgia rather than it's strength as a game, but I still had a blast for the most part.
