OK i'm not totally sure how to describe this game. As the Rhythm heaven games are tied for my favorite games of all time(the original Rhythm heaven for the DS is the best), my expectations of this game were high. But this game was nothing like rhythm heaven (game play was kinda similar, but in many ways completely different. Timing was more exact, completely new game designs, etc etc ), neither was it anything like the rage inducing bullet hell shooter series its a part of. This game is in a class of its own, and it is beautiful. Taking the characters you'v come to know and hate, and putting them into some of the most fun rhythm games iv ever played, was the greatest idea iv ever heard of. As this game is in Japanese, and I heard the English translation doesn't quite work, its kinda hard to navigate the menu at first. But as anyone who every played a Rhythm tengoku(The very first rhythm heaven game for the GBA, that was released in japan only), you don't need to be able to read Rhythm heaven games, once the games start, you feel the rhythm, you don't read anything. …

And once you do finally navigate to the choose a game section, it becomes so intuitive and easy. And the music, oh my gosh the music. Touhou is already known for its beautiful and focus inducing music compositions, but this game, it takes those classic already amazing songs, and makes them sooooo much better. The game strips the music down to its very core, then re imagines it as a cute and upbeat music masterpiece. Im so very glad I stumbled across this game, and while im only about halfway through beating all the games (Rhythm heaven fans know the time consuming struggle of having to perfect every single game), even after I beat this game, I will continue playing it tell the end of time.
