Review

Centipede Recharged is basically a slightly improved version of Space Invaders. Things come from the top, move to the sides then down, you shoot at them and there's objects in the way. There are power ups, the enemy doesn't shoot at you and sometimes they split in two. Mostly it's just an exercise in frustration because there's a bunch of mushroom-thingies in the way.

It’s skinned to feel so much like Geometry Wars.

The enriched weapon mechanics and divided top/bottom infestation strategy are so pure I can’t help but love this as an evolution of the arcade game. The power ups are satisfying in both animation and sound effects. The single life permadeath scoreboard chasing is very gratifying. The nerve grating death screen is exactly the challenge to your ego you need to try again.
