Just didn't age well

Pro:

  • Great intro movie.
  • Support for modern resolutions (1920x1200 in my case)
  • Proper options menu with remappable keys, et cetera.

Con:

  • Early 3D games were quite ugly.
  • The tutorial is a bit clumsy - you have to look up the keys you need to press and fly overlong distances. "Fly there, shoot that" covers pretty much all you can do.

Conclusion

Incoming Forces reminds me of games like Fury³ and Terminal Velocity. Early 3D games where you flew around a big map and attacked ground and air targets. They were especially fun with a joystick (we had a Microsoft SideWinder!). However, they have aged quite badly. Even if you look past the graphics, the gameplay is simplistic and repetitive. In an age of games like X3TC, Star Citizen and Elite, there's just no reason to play this aside from nostalgia. Heck, they're even making a new Descent, that seems like a way better option.
