We all love to see the future of our world and Cyberpunk story perfectly fills our curiosity. Even the music in the game are really incredible and give me the future vibe whenever I am driving around. But if the game is that good, why am I saying it's one of the biggest disappointment from CDPR? Well you guys already knew why. The buggy gameplay, T-pose NPCs, lag even though the graphics aren't better than GTA:V and the most important thing, too many POINTLESS cutscenes and dialogues. This is NOT the CDPR that I knew when I played all the 3 Witcher games. The CDPR that created one of the best open world RPG games of all times. Long story short, Cyberpunk 2077 would have been an amazing game if not an even better version of GTA:V if CDPR did cared about the game before releasing it.

Some parts of this CP77 are so awful it comes across as a parody. Not only do you have the most cringeworthy character ever (Timmy Silverhand) but you cast the most wooden sounding actor of all time (Keanu Reeves) to voice him? It's beyond pathetic.

The only reason i know it's not a parody is because this is the same studio that basically forced you to have sex with women in The Witcher 1, then gave you porn of them as a reward.

Completed this game earlier today only to discover i missed a bunch of quests because they're weirdly labelled "main quests" in the map filter. Gotta go back and do those before the review.

Some thoughts on the ending:

  • Decent endboss, but i'm not sure how you can beat him without magic spells quick hacks.
  • The rest of the finale was a mixed bag. Really hate forced vehicle sections. Looking at you, Red Faction: Guerrilla and Metro 2033.
  • Nicely done epilogue, but they should've had the other romance option sitting with you at the end.

Some thoughts on the game:

  • I used the Cyber Engine Tweaks console to give myself max Breach Protocol so i could ignore the hacking mini-game. This vastly improved my enjoyment of the game.
  • Another really tedious skill to level is Engineering, which requires you to constantly manually disable camera's to gain decent XP.
  • Looting/selling is such a huge timesink in CP77 and one of its worst aspects - which also goes for Dying Light, Mad Max and other games.

Next time i play (with the expension in September) i'm just going to give myself a million €$ with the console and only pick up items i need. Also definitely going to level Breach Protocol, Engineering and maybe Athletics this way to avoid the tedium related to levelling these. Probably Crafting too now i think about it.

Developers really need to learn not to waste so much of our time on bullshit.

Lol, CPDR is holding preorders for Phantom Liberty, they must be smoking some strong shit. It's amazing they are even willing to make people pay for the DLC that's their chance to, maybe, redeem their initial game that still isn't any deeper than it was at launch, even if it's a few bugs shorter.

Sounds like the entire game is getting another major overhaul in September. I kind of regret finishing it when I did. And I even waited until the PS5 native version was released.

(copied from a Reddit post)

  • virtually every system of the main game has been changed and/or updated

  • police system is completely reworked with multiple tiers of NCPD/mercs chasing you down in vehicles according to your wanted level, apparently on level 5 maxtac will chase you down and it will be some sort of bossfight against them... Source:

  • perks and skills have been completely overhauled, no longer simple passive stat boosts, much more active abilities like different melee finishers, a dash, or the ability to deflect bullets with melee weapons

  • an entirely new 6th skill tree that uses a different type of skill points (relic points) that will be used to add new abilities to your cyberware

  • installing cyberware now has an effect on your body and you cant install too much or else you will go cyberpsycho (no idea what that looks like in game)

  • installing cyberware now has a first person cutscene added to it, just like in the prologue at Vik's clinic

  • you can now "attune" cyberware to one of your attributes, making it more efficient if you have invested in that attribute; example here optical camo is attuned to the "cool" attribute: enter image description here

  • armor is no longer tied to clothing, it instead tied to your cybernetics

  • vehicle combat is added to the game, you can even use your katana on your bike

  • you will be able to hack vehicles, similar to the Watch Dogs games

  • vehicles are no longer bought from fixers, but bought through a website set up by wakako

  • some vehicles have guns installed on them (machine guns, rocket launchers)

  • new type of infinitely replayable/repeatable missions are being added where you need to steal certain vehicles marked on your map

  • new activity introduced "airdrops", loot caches that drop randomly on the map that you can fight over and retrieve for yourself

  • tons of new random events/activities are added to make the world feel more alive, like car chases and gang fights

I'm so sick of hacking minigames in open world games. It's awful in Deus Ex. It's worse in Fallout. It's terrible in Cyberpunk. Got this game over a year ago with a steelbook for $10 at Best Buy. Started it last night and it seems okay. Even had a free PS5 upgrade.

The only downside is the game starts slow so I did put it down for a while. Once the game starts Act 2, it gets so much better.

I will pick this back up when Phantom Liberty is released.
