Finally getting to the point where I am understanding enough of the systems to make some more intelligent choices about my build. However, this game has a number of bizarre design choices for a modern RPG. No respec of attribute points, level cap of 50, and a ton of skill trees you will never be able to fill out in a single playthrough.

How do people decide on their build for games so early on? It usually takes me about 10 hours to get a feel for the game and what way I like to play. Only then do I intelligently manage to put some points to work towards a more tailored creation.

I really wish all modern RPGs had an easy way to do respec your entire character. I just don’t have the time to replay an 80 hour game with a different build to maybe see if I like it. Good thing I am on PC where I can mod the game to let me respec what I want.

I am very intrigued by this game. It took a bit too long to get to the open world exploration that I enjoy, but I am now awed by the cityscape and all the details.

However this game is still extremely janky and doesn't do itself any favors... had a crash to desktop and a quest bug that wouldn't let …

About as 3 star of a game as you can get. It's not bad, but nothing stands out. And I'm beyond tired of the "dystopian" setting in games. The amount of hype this game got was nowhere close to what was delivered. A very average game. With time limited, I'll check out other titles instead.

Look, I know I'm a huge sap, but Alt reciting "the lovesong of j. alfred prufrock" to V at the end of the game really gets me

So...20 hours in. The game is fun enough, doing the sidequests and exploring...but every time Johnny Siverhand is on the screen I desperately want him to go away. So...20 hours in. The game is fun enough, doing the sidequests and exploring...but every time Johnny Siverhand is on the screen I desperately want him to go away. He ruins every scene he is in, both with his idiot attitude (which isn't even consistent throughout the game - one minute he's a hard-nosed asshole who only cares about himself and the next he's the morality police), and Reeves' awkward, wooden performance.

Also, a major gripe I have is how Night City is a playground for the worst of humanity...and it rewards them. But the game rewards the same tired, boring white/black morality that we've seen since Baldur's fucking Gate. I'm trying to play an asshole Corpo, and I feel that leaning I to that shuts down your opportunities. But if you're a goody-two-shoes (who would NEVER survive in Night City), you get rewarded with more. So I just had to reset a quest because when I play it as MY character, the quest just ends. But if I pretend to be virtuous I can see the rest of it. Why is there no option to be an asshole AND see the world? Because tonally that makes more sense to me.

I just don't understand why every single time there's a mission that takes me out into this beautiful open world, the mechanism is "sit in the passenger seat and listen to me talk"

Just let me drive the damn car.

I finally got around to starting this. I'm sorry, but did someone let their teenage son write the dialogue for this game? It is criminally bad. I'm having trouble stomaching it.

Good game with a great story. Combat was a bit floaty which took me out of it sometimes and the driving sucks if you don't use a motorcycle. Those are the only things that knocked a star off for me. The world is totally immersive and there is A LOT of content. This is a game you'll want to have …

This is a game you'll want to have time for as I could've easily clocked in 100+ hours if my ADHD didn't start kicking in towards the end.

But throw that into a video game where you get to walk around and wade in it? Sometimes unnerving but also quite fun. Now, to not get my hopes up and just keep playing it... :D

Not gonna lie. After finishing Edgerunners, show was pretty mid. I'm very close to beating the game, and I still don't care to finish it after the anime.

There's a lot to like in this game. The graphics are great. The gunplay and gameplay are some of the best I've seen. The inclusion of quickhacking is one of my favorite ways to play. It's possible to things many different ways. Reminds me of the original Deus Ex in that regard. The story and acting are phenomenal. I definitely feel like I had some degree of choice, but choice is fundamentally an illusion for a lot of the storyline. But that's alright. The game tells a very good story. The world feels lived-in and realistic. Now only the modders from Skyrim need to get to work on making more content. The driving feels alright, but I hate driving in these types of games. If there's ever a race mission in a GTA game I avoid them like the plague because they usually just feel bad.

Summary: If GTA and Deus Ex had a baby and it was a story-driven RPG.

I took a break from Cyberpunk 2077 due to reaching an irritating mission. I definitely plan to return to it as I was really enjoying it (except for the mission in question!)

Over 40 hours into this one. Open world fatigue is starting to set in though. Doesn’t help I beat Elden Ring prior to this one. Think I’m going to start skipping side stuff and focus on the main missions. Also thinking I’m going to play some shorter games after this.
