giopep's review of Typoman

Una buona riedizione che smussa qualche asperità (soprattutto la difficoltà delle fasi action), aggiunge ritocchi apprezzabili e conserva fascino e ingegnosità. Per nulla sfruttato il touch screen di Switch, però.

A cute idea framed by an unnecessarily broody world.

The puzzles are occasionally clever, although most of the fun is in just guessing which words will let you move forward. The gameplay itself does not progress significantly beyond basic platforming and figuring out how to move the letters you need from point A to point B.

Given that there are so few ways to interact with the environment, the decision to devote apparently no time at all to tightening up the controls was a bold design choice.

Short; it wrings the life completely from its premise. Did not leave game thirsty for more.

Some important visual details were difficult to make out while sitting a reasonable distance from the screen--a consequence of the gloomy colour pallette.

There is a story of sorts, but it's disposable. I think this would have worked at least as well if it had some bright colours and humour instead of endless grimdark.

Played on the Switch.
