Even costumes that used to be free are now premium and really expensive. I love the new content and the masses of new player, but hate how every fun cosmetic cannot longer be earned by just playing.

Tried the game for Switch this morning.
Took 5 minutes to get into a match.
Ran like molasses once I was in a match.
Concept was fun in 2020, not so much 2022.
Immediately deleted it from Switch.
Switch needs a serious hardware boost if it struggles to run freakin' Fall Guys.

Me: I have a lot of crap. I don't need so many figures and collectibles. I need to start selling or gifting them.
Also me: Mom! I bought a Fall Guy!

(I couldn't resist. This is my favorite costume in the game and the one I use the most).

Is that a...

... a Long Guy!
(I can´t believe they really used that as an official promotional artwork)

I remember buying this game being annoyed that pc users were the only ones that had to pay for it and not bein gable to refund it. Now I'm stuck with a game that really wasn't worth my money. Just really repetitive.

Marking this game as "played" because at last, I did it. Today, I was the last guy to fall. I finally, finally, finally won! It is good to be king.

Fall Guys is a fun game. It's the only game of its sort to win me over, to get me revisiting it on a regular basis. It's perfect for just turning my brain off for 5-20 minutes after work or something, and just getting a good laugh from the silliness of it all. I love the doofy characters, their mannerisms, the silly sounds they make, the way they tumble about, the wacky costumes, and most importantly -- the cheesy puns for the various events you participate in. Some minigames I like better than others of course, but for the most part they're enjoyable enough. And hey, you do legitimately get better at them with practice. But I also don't feel bad if I get unlucky and lose right away. Just a feel-good game, through and through.

I was talking recently about Fall Guys with some friends and they told me that this game, the one I play constantly and never have issues to find matches, the one that is updated any other week and has an amazing community of shitposters online, is dead.

Is Fall Guys really "dead"? Of course not. Apex Legends, Fornite, LoL, and the most played games in the world have been declared 'dead' too by parts of the gamer community. This got me inspired to write about the myth of the 'dead game' and why is so persistent.
Ah! the article! Yes. It's here. It's in spanish.

I really like this game. I don't play every day... not even every week, but I really enjoy it. Sadly, I'm cursed to never win a Crown. I just finished another final round in second place. This has happened a lot and is heartbreaking.
I'm still having fun tho.

Thoughts on the Winter Update:

The new team game is as good as a team game can get, and it often happens with teams of 4, so I feel I have real control over how the game goes. I had one where I brought my team back from last place by making them push the ball the way I wanted. It doesn't encourage ganging up on one team, and doesn't feel random.
Roll Off is a perfect final game. It ramps up difficulty quickly and actually gets hard in the end, as opposed to something like Jump Showdown which stays really simple.
Thin Ice is the opposite. It needs 2 less layers, maybe even 3. It starts off so slow, it feels like we spend 2 minutes just randomly running around until it gets hard. I get so bored I stop trying to win.
Overall, a way better patch than the previous one. The medieval levels weren't bad at all, but there were so few of them, and Wall Guys and Hoopsie Legends were sort of slow and clunky games compared to these. (And let's be real, no one wanted another egg game)
Apparently there's some sort of Penguin themed game that is so rare most people haven't seen it, myself included.
