Ar Nosurge is a sci-fi, ‘7 Dimension’ RPG, that takes place in a world where music and song can create magic. It tells the compelling story of a civilization that lost their planet and has been roaming the edge of space for 2000 years in search of a new home. The game follows two sets of characters: Delta and Casty, whose goal is to protect humanity and save the world, and Ion & Earthes, who are trying to find Ion a way home to Earth. The player can interchange between both pairs and soon discover a way to combine their storylines and strengths to eventually solve the mystery that shrouds their ongoing struggle. Less

Better than I thought...

Ar Nosurge is kinda like a light novel combined with the (J)RPG element and if you have played any of the Ar Tonelico games before it will feel strangely similar. Well, of course it would since Ar Nosurge is apparently a prequel to the Ar Tonelico series. As a game specializing in songs you can expect some good music to listen to and the story is pretty deep as well. What I really liked was that all the characters you meet have a lot of history which you can learn as you play and that explains their personalities and why they became like that. There are a lot of sad things to learn but that does not mean that there is no comedy. I really enjoyed the funny conversations when you synthesized something for the first time with either Ion/Earthes or Delta/Cass and they criticized the item that came out. The items that come out are all over the place with some being really stupid (in the regard of "why the heck did you make something like that?!") while others being the ultimate Sci-Fi items capable of crazy stuff, according to the item's summary anyway. Overall the game was really …

Overall the game was really enjoyable and its a short game if all you want to do is finish it, but if you want to complete the game 100% the you need to spend over 50 hours on it.
