“You chose exile in search of penance, in place of revenge. I seek to give you both - and in return… I will be set free.” - FATHER Enter the dystopian world of SPRAWL, a hardcore retro FPS set in an endless cyberpunk megalopolis. Advances in cybernetics and artificial intelligence pushed humanity into a new era, but that golden age has crumbled…leaving behind a broken world. Play as SEVEN, a disgraced special ops super soldier who finds herself embroiled in conflict with government forces trying to kill her while a mysterious voice in her head pushes her to survive. Betrayed by her organization and on a mission to overthrow the Junta, a military regime that rules the sprawl with an iron fist, SEVEN must escape the walled city and discover what secrets lie at the SPIRE. The streets of the SPRAWL are vast and the armies of the corporate government seem endless. But the dark alleys and dilapidated apartment surfaces are all compatible with the “Icarus” cybernetic implant, allowing SEVEN to perform gravity-defying wall-running maneuvers and slow down time with excess adrenaline drops from dismembered enemies. With a horde of different troop types and carefully designed weapons, she will be pushed to the limit to survive. The SPRAWL eventually consumes us all…will you fight your way out? Read less

Didn't like this

Neat idea but very bare bones. You like jumping around in Arena Shooters a lot like Unreal Tournament 99? Sprawl scratches an itch to move and shoot, and has wall jumping mechanics but the maps are tedious. There's minimal handholding no NAV or UI so it's not clear where you need to go. I quit playing for this reason and didn't find the resolve to figure out how to overcome the vertical building jumping puzzle because the basic game wasn't really all that much fun to play. The Idea of jump around shooting at enemies in bullet time sounds cool but this is not the best execution of such a premise I managed to get through 2.5 levels. If the maps, the gameplay, or the HUD could have been improved i might have found myself more desire to keep going.

Downgraded Severed Steel

So basically, it's Severed Steel, but with downgraded mechanics. Half of the maps feel too big for their gameplay. Lots of stages can be cleared from afar and bots will not know what to do they would just run at you or get stuck under you (if you have high ground). Boss fights suffer from the same thing as in …

So basically, it's Severed Steel, but with downgraded mechanics. Half of the maps feel too big for their gameplay. Lots of stages can be cleared from afar and bots will not know what to do they would just run at you or get stuck under you (if you have high ground). Boss fights suffer from the same thing as in Severed Steel: you can just spin them or walk left-right and they couldn't hit you. The final stage music was a good. Urban setting is under used, Industrial locations in overused for my taste. The game hits hard sometimes, but mostly it's just OK. The story is there, but it's just avarage at best.
