Oh wow, this game was pretty bad (but not unplayably awful) It's not total crap but I would not reccomend it. Here are the highlights:
-Probably the coolest and most clever name for a game SlavicPunk: Oldtimer... (It's like a magic spell... How can one hear this and not become interested?) But no, it's not really the Cyber Gopnik 2020 game stylized like some absurd version of Far Cry Blood Dragon that you probably envisioned or hoped it to be (that was me anyway)

'Game formerly known as SybirPunk' does feature gopniks, hardbass and shitty little cars though! Best played eating pumpkin seeds (which I did)
-Pretty good broody electronic ambient music that really fits the brooding cyberpunk theme
-Decent stop motion cutscenes in the style of heavy shaded darkest dungeon style art
-Hilariously written descriptions for the weapons and upgrades in the weapon shop
These cutscenes have great art, the voice acting is okay, but the writing and translation was a dealbreaker for me, and i began skipping them towards the end of the game.
That's about all the good things, now the bad (it's a much bigger list:)
A pretty big pile of bugs. Enemies …

A pretty big pile of bugs. Enemies sometimes get stuck in walls. Keycards are needed to open some doors that then open doors elsewhere, could never figure out the way reload worked (much less active reload) by the end of the game. shooting requires you to aim and hold it down for a while and you can't just 'insta shoot' leads to jankiness, enemies can actually shoot at you anywhere in the map (but doesn't mean they'll hit you for much damage, but WHY,)
Then there are the bad and poor design choices. This list is even bigger: weapon upgrade system literally the worst imaginable in a game. most upgrades pointless (silenced weapons in a game like this?) ultimate upgrades lock all other upgrades out and aren't great. Obsolescent/progressive upgrade system no purpose when you can get top tier upgrade after 1 or 2 missions in easily. (I maxed out all upgrades less than half through the game, which is only 4.5 hours btw, its not 10 hours!) confusing city hub center with a weapon shop that should be more prominent. lame health/mana/stamina potion system and loot system, bad game economy system, money is pointless, dashing is pointless, enemy shields pretty much have one way of being dealt with (single purpose hacking mechanic), 'fake' elemental damage system that serves no purpose, EMP round upgrades serve no real purpose, bad translation and english localization, goofy voice acted scripts (voice actors okay), ultimately this is probably EXACTLY what you'd expect of a russian-styled cyberpunk game based off of Ruiner and looks like The Ascent (nothing like The Ascent, barely resembles Ruiner... The playstyle here honestly is a lot closer to HATRED but not even as good as that because of it's various issues) Also stupid story (somewhat resembles a bad version of Ruiner's story) that's not translated well and not substantial to begin with.

Maybe the worst bug/bad design is the way scaling text doesn't work right in this game. The game text is too small all over the place, there is an option to max it out (really helps make the UI look normal on a conventional 1920x1080 resolution) but what the actual fuck, the NPC text is impossible to read no matter what as it uses a different sized font, and that text in the corner, isnt even text its' like a video that requires zooming in outside the game in a photoviewer to read... Devs must have played this on a 640x480 potato while drinking them potato squeezings and thought that such low resolutions were normal.
"Hacking other people can lead to serious consequences to organs such as: Brain... Eyes.. Heart... Liver... And Scrotum. There may be local consequences for abuse [gibberish]" Gee, thanks for letting me know but not making it big enough to read without going into photoshop. I guess I cannot complain?

Said dev computer. Time to upgrade the CS 1.6 rig, comrade!

Worried about writing, I got you! Just make the character a drug user, any story works, and no real plot or reasonable direction is needed! Anything can happen.
The story/idea of this game is that you are a mercenary, and you have two associates one of which hires you the other is your friend and is a hacker, it falls into standard cyberpunk trope territory and your callsign is "oldtimer" and you look like some kinda cyborg Josef Stalin who has a combat stim addiction. The setting is weak and consists of you mostly going into shooting up industrial areas, offices, skeezy apartments and stuff like that (I have no idea who you are fighting or who the enemies are, but some have police lights so that's a hint) You gain an arsenal of about 6 weapons and generally speaking they are incremental improvements (I stuck with the assault rifle the whole time, and never really liked the SMG or railgun) there's really little reason to use anything else other than the shotgun or AR IMO. It doesn't really play like either The Ascent or Ruiner but clearly took inspiration from both games to become the third person pseudo ARPG (there's NO RPG to this though) shooter it is. the camera is on a hard locked horizontal orbit so you cant zoom in or pan the camera vertically which is pretty annoying in some spots

I mean really, did they even playtest their own game😫? So many annoyances are present but the one that I hated the most was how much stuff winds its way up in front of a camera that you can't tilt, so there is NO way to see around it. Seeing the silhouettes of the enemies helps but when they are behind cover or ducking behind cover and you can't see those things it just does not help at all... just terrible

I knew this wasn't going to be good and I recommend you don't play it either. I was just about to call it quits because I wasn't really enjoying it but on easy, it's not too hard and I figured I'd make it to the hard area everyone complained about on the forums (apparently i had no trouble or they removed it or made it easier) then next thing i knew there was a boss fight and the game was over. (that was no ten hours, whew!) I think the highlight was really the weapon shop with some of the most off color descriptions for weapon upgrades that feature an obligatory 'comrade.' This game has a lot of typical russkie sexism, bad language, and off-color/weird views on things.. It was more fun to review, chronicle and slam this than playing it. I'm grateful it's not TWICE As long i don't think I'd have finished.

This game is probably going to offend most people some way, somehow... I am pretty sure the description of the expanded magazine for the Assault Rifle ("The Kindergartner") would get this game banned on steam if they caught wind of it.🔨
