The second Payday entry is a cooperative first-person shooter that immerses you in the world of high-stakes heists. You take on the role of one of a team of professional criminals, executing robberies that range from small convenience store jobs to elaborate multi-day bank heists. Nothing new here when compared to the first title, it is just more content, better graphics and overall QOL improvements, so if you liked the first entry, than there is little to no excuse not to play this one.

The core gameplay revolves around teamwork, coordination, and strategy, rewarding people who plan carefully and adapt on the fly. Each heist can be approached in multiple ways, whether opting for stealth to avoid alarms or going in guns blazing, which adds a layer of tactical depth. One of the game’s standout features is its extensive customization system, built upon it's amazing community. You can upgrade weapons, select different loadouts, and unlock skills through branching skill trees, allowing for highly personalized playstyles.

The progression system encourages replaying missions to maximize rewards and experiment with different strategies. This title is really meant to be played in coop, so like the first one, I also don't recommend playing this alone, it won't be a very good experience. Additionally, some missions can feel repetitive over time, and the initial learning curve can be steep for newcomers unfamiliar with stealth mechanics or proper loadout optimization.

Despite these issues, this game has maintained a strong and active player base thanks to regular updates, DLC expansions, and community-created content. Its blend of adrenaline-fueled action, tactical planning, and cooperative gameplay makes it a memorable experience for anyone who enjoys team-oriented shooters. The thrill of pulling off a perfectly executed heist with friends remains the game’s most compelling feature. Unfortunately I didn't managed to experience much of this since my friends quickly got tired of playing this, but this game is always in my mind when I think about playing coop to any extend, which says a lot about it's quality.

Played this on the PS5 and the experience was terrible. It was like playing COD Minecraft edition.

RoadTo360 4, Payday 2: Why play this on 360?

My goal is to beat 360 Xbox 360 games, but I'm choosing them randomly.

I think I'm going to make my reviews shorter from here on out because the others were probably too long to read

Payday 2 is a first-person shooter, where the player is a criminal and goes on a bunch of heists to earn money. There are ten different heists in the Xbox 360 version of this game, but there are close to 100 on the PC version. My criteria for "beating" this game was to complete each of the heists.

So each heist has the player decide wether they want to do it "loud" or sneakily. Some can't be done through sneaking. The stealth in this game is very difficult because the moment anyone sees anything out of place they call the cops. You then get to experience some of the worst FPS action on the console. The gunplay in this game is not good and it is not satisfying to shoot down the thousands of cops who come to the scene of your crime.

So, after beating heists, the player gets both xp and cash. You will never have enough money to do what you want because perks, which you should just get from xp, cost money. Things like guns and attachments cost close to 100k.

The graphics in this game are okay, but I experienced framerate drops all the time. You also have to really like doing certain heists, because the game makes you do them over and over to progress. I think this game is pretty interesting, but I started to get really bored and frustrated with redoing heists too many times.

Buy this game on PC or later-gen consoles. Do not waste your time and money on the Xbox-360 version of this game (1/5)

This game took me 13 hours, 42 min, 34 sec to "beat" and have spent 66 hours and 47 min on this challenge so far.

Next Game: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06... ugh

Tried playing it for a bit. Had zero fun. I thought there was a campaign but it was just sets of objectives. The limited time I played online was not really my cup of tea and offline is just unbelievably boring.

Probably the worst big-budget game i've ever played

Bizarrely byzantine, bad, bland & boring - Payday 2 is one of the worst 'real' games i've ever played.

Bizarrely byzantine, bad, bland & boring - Payday 2 is one of the worst 'real' games i've ever played.

It's a game that obfuscates its content in a truly unique way. I played it for ~100 minutes and still have absolutely no idea how you unlock weapons/items and what 'assembling' a mask does exactly. You can buy 'assets' during 'pre-planning' but it gives you no indication of who or how this is paid for. The skill point system is straightforward when you've finally managed to find it but lord knows how perk points work. Oh god, and the way you select missions from a jumbled map? It's like this game was designed by aliens.

However, that's all fairly irrelevant because the gameplay is absolutely 100% terrible. I did a 'bank heist'. You spend 6 minutes (!!) standing around waiting for the drill to open the vault. Then you spend roughly as much time looking at a low-resolution wall of lockers holding F. There was also some walking back and forth to throw bags of money in a van. The whole thing took 20 minutes during which not a single enemy opposed us. That would be awful for a single-player game, let alone a multi-player first-person shooter.

If in the future it were to be revealed that Payday was created by aliens who have a g-spot on their index finger, that would make perfect sense to me, since the games love making you hold buttons down. You can't just stand somewhere and press a key. Oh no, you have to keep holding that button for minutes and minutes and minutes. And if enemies do show up you'll discover that combat is godawful as well. Enemies spawn endlessly, which is necessary because even cops with helmets go down with a single headshot.

Through sheer force of will i managed to soldier on and proceed to the nighttime raid. You have to go somewhere to do something or whatever. In any case, if you get caught you automatically fail. In a multiplayer game. This made me facepalm so hard that nearly gave myself a concussion.

It's fun for a while, but once you realize that your main objectives ends up being grinding on the most lucrative mission for money just to level up, only to rinse and repeat and lose your weapons with each level up, it starts to lose your attention.
