The gameplay was peak and sound track is one of the best I've ever listened to...BUT...here comes the BUT and is huge...why would i give this game 4/5 if i loved it, well...because for the first 2.5 hours out of 5.5 that took me to finish the game i didn't know how to use the mechanics of this game, I'm talking about the block/parry sys, the Sword mode and dismember mechanic...i heard there is a Reaper mode but I didn't ever use it and that there are items that can restore your health or energy which until I reached the Senator, the best boss fight in the game, didn't even know exist...by the way, the most annoying one was the guy that has all his limbs attached magnetically and cosplays as Ubito from Naruto...and is using the weapons of Raphael from Ninja Turtles. This game has the worst tutorial there ever was and refuses to teach you how to use most of the mechanincs...there is a tutorial in the begining of the game but it really doesn't do much so DON'T SKIP IT or you will be even more lost than I was. Overall this game is a ton of fun after you learn the basics...don't learn the combos cause 99.98% of the time you will be button mashing. There are 2 very short DLC's that are great that took me somethin like one hour each to complete so. There are some VR challanges that you need to discover during the missions of the game but they are lame and i don't really want to waste my time with them. Besides the awful job of a tutorial they did the only thing that remains to discuss is the fact that there are many moments during the fights that are total BS thanks to the very little space you have to manage with.

The Monsoon fight was maybe my favorite part. But unfortunately there were way too many times where I had to deal with some frustration to figure out how it works alongside with fighting severe camera issues.
If you're a hack-and-slash aficionado there's a lot to sink your teeth into here, and I could see why others love this game. But for me, I'm fine with going through it once. Overall, I'm glad I finally got around to playing it, if only to see what the fuss was about.

Finished story on Easy
Final thoughts:
Even though I'm generally not good at Action Beat-em-ups, this game is so satisfying to watch and play asides from a few minor issues (Camera is too close, and parrying/dodging would've been much easier if it had a dedicated buttons). It's essentially like they made an entire game around the Raiden cutscenes from Metal …

It's essentially like they made an entire game around the Raiden cutscenes from Metal Gear Solid 4 and turned up the Metal Gear absurdity from 11/10 to a 12/10! All boss feels intense especially for the final boss which is memorable for being one of the most
American caricatures I've seen in a game. The music absolutely helps too!It might not be a Kojima directed Metal Gear in the end, but this game, despite the unique aesthetics, still feels like it part of the Metal Gear Universe. At least... much more than whatever the hell the franchise is doing with zombies lately.

Really dug into this for the first time last night. At first the combat was underwhelming to me, but once getting through the tutorial and really starting to get the hang of it - and reach the more exciting gameplay - I'm feeling pretty hooked.
