"The player is having too much fun, let's annoy the hell out of him by just constantly trowing a ball at him."

This game is awesome, but sometimes it's also just cheap in it's difficulty.

What's worse than an escort mission? An escort mission where you can only attack using environmental objects.

I'm usually quite partial to quirky Japanese games and have played through the Devil May Cry series however this didn't grab me in the way I hoped it would. The story is crazy and makes little sense and the voice work was just annoying.

The combat system is deep and complex but in the end it was too much for me and I never felt compelled to purchase different moves or weapons in the way I have with Ninja Gaiden or other similar games.

Had I not been forced to endure the painfully tedious on-rails sections and I may have had a better time with it but I found it to be quite an uneven playthrough.

It was a decent romp, I'm not compelled to go back and improve on my stone awards but it was an interesting game nonetheless and I'll be checking out the rest of Platinum's releases. Bayonetta just didn't live up to the hype for me.
