Wow, I didn't know that you could choke and Android to death.

(Doing my part to add at least some none Elder Ring content.)

At this point it seems like a series of disjointed mini stories that are all variations on a common theme. Mostly weird stuff. But so far story beats don't come together as a cogent plot.

This was on my list of games I wanted to play but would not run on my old laptop. It was on sale on Steam and decided to give it a go. (Probably not a good idea with BOTW also on the playing list, but I don't claim to make only good decisions.)

I'm on the early hours so no spoilers but I have I question: am I, as a player, supposed to take the story about humans on the moon and alien-deployed machines at face value or is it meant to be preposterous and unbelievable?

Game had great potential for me. My friend warned me she played for 45 minutes only to die and not have her progress saved. Same happened to me so I unisntalled it.

I know this may upset some people.

I had indifferent opinions regarding NieR: Automata after playing through it for the first time. But now after the recent news, I now consider NieR: Automata to be a masterpiece that should be played by everyone just to beat the shit out of the president.

There is 10 hours of fun game play here. The transitions between the various camera perspectives are elegant and easy to follow. The combat is a fun sort of button mash, but challenge and mastery are subverted by the over abundance of health items that are too easy to use. The map is a pleasant puzzle.

I cannot understand the high praise for the story. It contains dialog that often made me cringe, and the premise is a sort of replaced-by-weapons concept that is less interesting than even very old takes such as the Second Variety or the match cut from bone to spaceship in 2001.

The final blow was the instructions at the end of the play through to replay the game. I complied, and was served a barely warmed over dish of last night's left overs.

So I just finished my 3rd playthrough which, apparently, gets you the final ending. Well, if that was the final ending, colour me disappointed.

From googling around, I'm not convinced I got the true ending, which is what everyone was saying you're supposed to get after the 3rd playthrough....

I'm just going to watch it on YouTube. I'm not up for another playthrough. It was a good game but not so good I want to play it over and over to flesh out all the finer details.

I am shook. Route A was solid and action-packed with promises of a great story. Route B was a bit repetitive, but opened up more story and Route C was everything coming together in one cohesive, incredible package. This is my favorite RPG on the Playstation 4 and one of my favorites of all time. Highly recommended.

So I beat the first ending, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to beat it several more times to get the so called "real ending". I've started a second play through and it is different but I'm not sure it's different enough. But this game has a habit of throwing surprises and twists at you, so, should …

Make a start on Nier Automata this afternoon. A couple of hours in and early impressions are good!

I like a game that does a good job explaining its mechanics. The art direction is interesting. And that soundtrack.... very nice.

Looking forward to seeing more! If anyone has any spoiler free suggestions for early game, let me know! Spoiler free!

I just played 45 minutes of this game, then some stupid chainsaws killed me and apparently all my progress is lost.

The top review on Grouvee did warn me, I just didn't want to believe it was true. It is true.

I own a ps5 and a switch. I make sure that I only play ONE game for each system so I am able to conquer my backlog. Ironically, when I click on “Tell What to Play” it told me Nier Automata. For my switch, I’m also playing Astral Chain both by the same developer. It’ll be interesting to get a …

Fairly early into Route C, I've hit my first wall, and it's shit-slicked doozy.

Dear game designers who add sequences where you need to go from point A to point B, but you're "injured" and randomly lose the ability to use basic movements like jumping and running: Fuck you.

This segment has sucked so much fun out of this game.

Story 10/10 Gameplay 10/10 Graphics 10/10 Concept 10/10. I think this game is great for people that enjoy robot stuff. I'm not really into it but the concept for the robots in this is creative.
