Rolling Thunder was a series very similiar to Shinobi an action platformer with limited ammo, cover usage, and lethal combat where both you and the enmies have projectile that fly fast and kill in just one or two hits.
You play as Bond-like spy and fight off against henchmen in strange costumes, the occasional killer robot, go through secret bases, underground lairs, and even stop a flight-jacker all leading up to fighting some the head of some secret cult trying to take over the world. While the other 2 were arcade ports this is a console exclusive. Featuring a more advanced combat system that gives you diagonal aiming and the ability to pick from 9 secondary weapons to bring into the stage: stuff like flamethrowers, grenades, or machine guns. The catch is you cannot pick the same secondary again, each stage you must use a different secondary. This naturally balances out the stronger ones and adds tactics. You'll want to find the best item for each stage and try and save the really good secondary weapons for the troublesome parts; it also keeps playthroughs fresh and varied.
It's also worth noting that this has one of the coolest soundtracks on …
