1213: Episode 1 is the first iteration of Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's 1213 series. The game follows an amnesiac man only known by his subject number 1213. He is locked inside mysterious facility where his captor runs terrible experiments on him. Then, for reasons yet unknown, 1213 is freed from his cell, just to find out something has gone terribly wrong inside the facility.
Unlike previous games by Ben Croshaw, 1213 is an action-adventure game featuring Prince of Persia style platforming and 2D shooter mechanics.

An 8-bit DOS-like platformer about a titular character: brain-damaged prisoner/victim of experimentation who is freed by an unknown professor. Upon releasing 1213 sets out to figure out who he is and what happened to him. Plays like Prince of Persia with a gun (which controls similar to Another World), also 2nd episode introduces sprinting. Very fun and has a nice shocking ending.
