So I played for around 13 hours. I reached the early morning of day 6 before soft-locking myself. See, I tried to be as compassionate to everyone as possible--I know, "idiot!" I cought the palgue earlier in day 5, and dumbass that i was, i though, "well, lemme continue my playthrough as is, i hate save scumming after all." So i continued, with my health slowly deacreasing and my infection rate steadily rising. When midnight came around, I barely had any health left, and no matter what i did, i kept dying--either by being mugged, the plague getting the better of me, or god forbid starving to death (as i had no money for food). Eventually, the traveler appeared and offered me a deal, one i was al too happy to accept (i know in retrospect, "you weren't supposed to take the deal brendon!")
Anyway, amazing game. My first playthrough ended with Buragh canonically dying of the plague on day 6. Cant wait to start from scatch and being a dick finally from day one.

I've given the other two games on my December playlist a fair shake, it's time to see if I can make it to the end of this! It's an interesting world with a mesmerizing philosophy, I'm just hungry all the time...

I bought this game because MandaloreGaming's review of it. The mystery of the story had my interest, but the draconic difficulty often mentioned and the fact the game seems to like doing sorta "soft jumpscares", at least in the intro, has kept me from attempting it.
I could easily turn down all the difficulties to a more Narrative Mode, but …

I could easily turn down all the difficulties to a more Narrative Mode, but that is considered sacrilege.

While playing this game i got a feeling of watching those art-house films from the 1960's. Someone else got those vibes?
Also to admit, this is the only game that i cheated. I was afraid of dying a lot so i used the console commands, shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame shame. i know. But i dont care …

I feel like Pathologic 2 psychologically prepared me for all this. So much of this covid-19 stuff is mirrored within the game, everything from food shortages, violence, conspiracies, economic impacts, distrust, quarantine, experimental treatments, travel restrictions, etc. Very eerie, the timing of it all, the coincidences and the stories/themes explored in this game, released so shortly before the outbreak.

If I get quarantined, I'm going to play Pathologic. :-)

I've somehow made it to Day 7! Three more days to go. No idea how I've managed to survive, I'm only hanging on by a thread. Words cannot describe the joy I felt when, on the verge of starvation, I found a half-eaten crust of bread on some guy's corpse near my house. I've died about 8 times, and each …

Words cannot describe the joy I felt when, on the verge of starvation, I found a half-eaten crust of bread on some guy's corpse near my house. I've died about 8 times, and each time you die, the difficulty increases. So I'm pretty sure my save file is completely bricked at this point, but the show must go on. Not quite sure whether I understand anything about this game but I'm still really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to my second playthrough already, and also keen to go back and try Pathologic 1 again sometime this year..

This game isn't fun or enjoyable in any sense. It's torture. And I absolutely love it. 😍

I'm loving Pathologic 2 so far. I'm not entire sure what's going on, or how to play it, but I guess that's part of the point. The story and atmosphere are intensely compelling. I'm playing on hardest difficulty; may god have mercy on my soul. I think there's a rough road ahead of me. 😂

Pathologic 2 is now on sale -34% on Humble; this tipped the balance so I finally bought it. Not sure when I'll actually get around to tackling it though. https://www.humblebundle.com/store/pathologic-2

Decided it would be better to buy this one in stead of forcing myself to play the original, and now I'm absolutely hooked. I guess other games will have to get in line. Why did I think buying a game shortly before two games I'm interested in are released was a good idea?

It's weird though. The game's quite heavy in its themes, and difficult too, so I want to take breaks often enough. But then it's also so incredibly compelling in its mystery and intrigue that I can't help but want to play on.

I am thinking about writing a small chunk of words about the difficulty of Pathologic 2 and the assumption that death = failure to game players. I think the game deserves more attention (even if it is selling decently, and the studio is, somehow marching on), and I believe its difficulty is often misconstrued and hyped up in harmful ways. …

This would be an exercise in writing out of genre for me, so it is something I really want to do :)

Finished Pathologic 2 last night. Fully convinced this is one of the best games I have ever played, one of the best of the decade (time to make those lists, btw)! One of those pieces of art that are just pleasurable to think about and admire their construction even without looking at it, or playing it.

Now I am curious to play the Bachelor in the original Pathologic, since he is not included in Pathologic 2 yet.
