A small child falls into the Underground, where monsters have long been banished by humans and are hunting every human that they find. The player controls the child as they try to make it back to the Surface through hostile environments, all the while engaging with a turn-based combat system with puzzle-solving and bullet hell elements, as well as other unconventional game mechanics.

A beautifully crafted, unique and hilarious game that had me screenshotting moments of comic brilliance and occasionally gasping at its presience. Mechanically it can sometimes be annoying/frustrating but never in a way that made me disinterested in continuing.

although i had briefly played on my laptop, i decided to return to undertale on the switch and finally reached the actual title card. It's shocking how moving those moments with toriel are and then equally weird how cheerful the game is once you reach the title card. Despite reading so much about it, It's hard to immediately grasp the tone: is it meant to be introspective, goofy, adventurey? i don't really have a good sense at the moment, despite largely enjoying what i've played so far.

I feel that it's crazy that Undertale has reached a point in indie stardom that I almost feel awkward writing my opinion about it, almost like I'm signing up for the crazy fandom title by stating that it's a great game, but I want my opinion in text somewhere.

I feel that it's crazy that Undertale has reached a point in indie stardom that I almost feel awkward writing my opinion about it, almost like I'm signing up for the crazy fandom title by stating that it's a great game, but I want my opinion in text somewhere.

Now to step into the shoes of the hipster that I am then I was actually one of the people who played Undertale within a week of release, and I can firmly say that playing it completely blind with only a few recommendations to go off of was a mind blowing experience for me. The game is an extremely well crafted facade to say to least and lets you think there's little depth to it initially, but without suddenly becoming overly forward, then you start deeply resonating with the goofy characters of this (frankly quite ugly) pixel world.

I don't want to go off on tangents explaining every detail of good that is in this game, because I feel that part of the reviewer market is quite saturated to say the least. So I'll just end off by saying that this game left me wanting more for months on end and despite the fact that I've probably watched enough lets plays or reviews about it, to never want to touch it again. Then I'll never forget especially that first, intimate game experience that I had with Undertale.

Oh boy. I started to play this game now, and I already know I will want to write whole review for it. Despite all it's flaws, the character writing is just out of this world.

Do you guys have some experience to share with the game ? or warn me before something that might happen further ahead ? (Currently around …

Its the fact that good music average garpichs and a materfull plot can make a new inovative ideea. The thing is the the fandom is so big its cause of its charm and because it leaves some questions unanswered(gaster).

Finished yesterday with the pacifist ending. As good as (or better) than Earthbound, definetly a new favorite along side Earthbound.

Just picked this up again after a summer break (Life is Strange took over my gaming time). I accidentally killed a couple more monsters while trying to remember how the battle mechanics work again. I had already killed one before so we'll see what happens. The writing is enjoyable and the music is great too.

It's amazing how much content Undertale has. I just finished my 6th playthrough and I'm still finding new stuff.
