King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones is a remake of King's Quest II: Romancing the Throne and a follow-up to AGD Interactive's (formerly Tierra Entertainment) earlier remake of the first game. Similar to its predecessor, it has VGA graphics reminiscent of Sierra's adventure games of the early 1990's and a new musical score. The remake retains the general outlines of the original story and the gameplay system, however contains additional locations, expanded dialogue, and new characters. What an amazing, imaginative remake of a classic. The original is extremely barebones by today's standards and the developers really did an amazing job fleshing out plot, characters, and details in such a way that this could easily stand with later Sierra adventures in terms of quality. What an amazing, imaginative remake of a classic. The original is extremely barebones by today's standards and the developers really did an amazing job fleshing out plot, characters, and details in such a way that this could easily stand with later Sierra adventures in terms of quality. And it's free! While the King's Quest 1 remake is closer to a clone of the original, this game just adds so much more. Definitely recommend it even if you know the original by heart. You don't really need to play the first in terms of understanding plot or characters either.
