Mortal Kombat X is the tenth main game in the one-on-one fighting series and a sequel to the 2011 title Mortal Kombat. The game stays close to the visual style and the mechanics of the 2011 reboot. The main controls are still based on two types of punches and kicks, and blocking, to form combos with uppercuts, teleports, special moves that incorporate weapons and fatalities. The three-tiered energy from the previous title returns, making available X-Ray moves, powered up EX moves and combo breakers. As introduced in Injustice: Gods Among Us, characters can use the environment to re-position themselves or optionally use parts as weapons. Each character now has three variations with different moves and weapons. There is once again a sprinting gauge, returning from Mortal Kombat 4. Read less

So I used to defend MKX as the best in the modern era, but as I gave another opportunity to mk11 I realized that there are many things wrong with this one, specially optimization in pc, models, and balance, but in many other aspects it's a very great game, just not as good as I remembered.

So... I need to ask you something. I have wondering if I should give MK a try, and I was interested in Mortal Kombat XL. If I'm not wrong, XL was the complete edition of X, wasn't it? Also, I rode that PS4 physical version had all the content in two discs.

But MK XI exists too, so I don't really know if that one would be a better option. I'm mostly interested in the singleplayer content, and if I play multiplayer, I play locally.

Loved playing it when it came out and still enjoy it. Definitely survived the test of time, i think it's a really good entry in the fighting game series and I prefer it over 11. Graphics are A1 and gameplay was just as brutal as I wanted it to be. 4/5

The Mortal Kombat series, made by Ed Boon, is a fighting game which the series is known for its grotesque use of violence, gore, and blood and for inspiring the ESRB system. Mortal Kombat X is the sequel to the game Mortal Kombat 9, one of the best fighting games of all time, but can Mortal Kombat X do the same thing or more than its predecessor? Mortal Kombat X has a few modes like, story mode, single player, tower, test your luck, multiplayer, online mode, and test your might. There are 25 fighters in total along with 9 dlc character, 2 more characters than the last Mortal Kombat game. The game has smooth controls, good hitbox detection, the ability to throw objects in the background, brand new fatalities, and with the addition of brutalities and faction kills. If I had say the gameplay was better than Mortal Kombat 9. Story mode was not as good as it could’ve been. The story mode takes place after Shao Kahn’s,the use to be ruler of outworld, death. Setting takes place in a invasion made by Quan Chi and Shinnok, the 2 villains of the story, the Special Forces, which consisted of Johnny Cage, general Sonya Blade, Kenshi, and a few soldiers, are fighting against the invasion. It was a flashback of what happened and we get to see the new characters of the game which includes, Cassie Cage,Jacqui Briggs, Kung Jin, and Takashi Takeda, and the story continues from there. The story mode is mostly inconsistent with power levels, for example, the characters that shouldn’t be strong are overpowered and the characters that should be strong are weak, and that's one of the main problem of story mode. The other problem is that the characters that Mortal Kombat fans grew up playing as like, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Scorpion, Sub-Zero,Mileena, and others are overshadowed by the new characters or Special Forces. One final thing to say about story mode is that it wasn’t as good as Mortal kombat 9’s story mode because Mortal Kombat 9 had so many twist and turns, a great retelling of Mortal Kombat 1,2, and 3, also it gives off the feeling that good won’t win because of the odds stacked against it, where in Mortal Kombat X it's kind of like this, do not fear Special Forces is here! Other than story mode, the other modes are pretty enjoyable to play and has great replayability, test your luck is my personal favorite because you won’t even know if the things on the slot can lead to your advantage or disadvantage. One more thing to say about the game as that the business deals that WB games made was just very expensive and unforgivable, like paying to unlock all the krypt items, the kombat packs costing 30 dollars, and easy fatalities.I personally recommend the game if you love gore, violence, blood, and the fighting game genre

Excellent fighter package. Fully featured, great fight mechanics, brilliant sound design and striking visual style... This is an incredible bang for your buck.
