Even though the sequel improves on the original in almost every way, I still prefer the original because the problems I have with Legends 2 outweighs all of the positives in my opinion. Hopefully Capcom will make a X9 or Legends 3 some day.

My first impression of the game was that it was better than the original in almost every way. Looks better, more diverse environments, better map readability, slightly better controls, and better stage designs. However, the more I play it, the more problems I have with it. Looks better, more diverse environments, better map readability, slightly better controls, and better stage designs. However, the more I play it, the more problems I have with it. Fighting multiple enemies was a chore in the original, but it’s actually worse in the sequel. Even though the controls are slightly better, you’re forced into worse situations where they actually feel like they’re worse. The lock on never locks on to the enemy you’d actually want it to, and for whatever reason, getting hit switches the target you’re locked on to. Combine that with lack of I-frames and you could quickly lose 80% of your life to a group of enemies you’re already struggling to beat because of the camera. I still have a lot more of the game to play, so I hope the positives outweigh the negatives for me eventually.

I bought this from an EB games in the mall 15 years ago and never played it. Good ratings here, but I wonder if it held up. Opinions, anyone? I remember loving the first.
