Ok, folks, I get it, Celeste is an awesome and magical game.

I finally got around to playing Celeste, and I definitely shouldn't have put it off as long as I did.

I've heard a lot about how great it is, and it's all true. It really is an incredible game. I'd heard that it confronts issues of mental health such as anxiety and depression. What I expected was a challenging, tight precision platformer with a bit more story than is typical for the genre. What I didn't expect, though, was a game with so much heart and personality, so much genuineness.
But most of all, what I didn't expect was a game that really feels like it understands me. It actually hurts a little.

I just finished the main game! The story was beautiful, the animation was cute (even though I'm not the biggest fan of pixel art), the game play is addicting and the music was spectacular.

A tough and fun platformer with a lovely little story about internal conflict. Good accomodations for people who need a break from the tough aspects of platforming.

Just finished Ch 7. Not going to complete the optional content to unlock Ch 8. It's a great challenging platformer and does a decent job describing an individual going through anxiety and depression. The game's writing is sublime and strikes the right balance between serious and jovial.

My only major issue with the game is the trial and error platforming especially the latter half. I'm not a fan of memorizing and executing perfectly timed button presses (like a fighting game combo) to make a successful climb.

Keep on trying, fuck off all the failures and, finally, you will reach your summit.

So I think this is turning out to be a repeat of Undertale for me... AKA a game that was hyped higher than the heavens by seemingly everyone on the planet, and it specifically sounds like a game I personally would also love a ton...

Which is fine of course, games I'd give a 3/5 are fun and good and well-worth checking out. But I sure am left with an odd feeling about it all. It's like I could just wake up in an alternate universe one day where something like, I don't know, The Bridge is the indie darling the entire gaming community loves above all others. (Like, it's fine? Lol.)

I so so hate giving up on things, but I’ve come to realise that precision platformers aren’t my thing. I’m 21 hours of playtime in, 4900 deaths, and I’ve only just rescued the dude in the crystal in Mirror Temple.

I appreciate that this is one of the best games in the genre, and reviews are outstanding, but it’s got to the stage now that I don’t even want to switch my PC on.
...time to move on and start enjoying something again.

The most beautiful annoying game i have ever played.
But so many unnecessary levels and few chapters.
I'm on the half of the chapter 7 now.
Let's see.
Edit: Finally finished chapter 7. My comments remains. Yes this game supposed to be challenging but it felt like they forced to much to make it hard.

Might be a masterpiece for those like platform games but it's an average game for regular gamer like myself.
I'm not gonna play ch.8 and 9.

Too hard for me. After playing a few games like this, I am ready to accept they are just not for me. Thank goodness for assist mode. I turned it on after the first few levels, and never looked back. I turned it on after the first few levels, and never looked back. The pixel art is pretty, and the music is great! The story was decent and the character dialog made me chuckle a few times. I bought Super Meat Boy a while ago, but I am sure that I will never play it after this. There are plenty of other genres that where I can enjoy the game without having to fight back the growing rage of repeated failure. I can see why some people love this game though.

I beat the A-sides and B-sides on my Switch back in the day, but I don't have that console anymore so I'm gonna try and get up to the C-sides and chapter 9 on a fresh save on PC. It's really just as good as I remember it, this game's movement is some of the best I've seen in a …
