It has all of the scummiest bits of free-to-play games. But the core gameplay reminds me of the tension of Hunt: Showdown in a Tarkov-lite with a Titanfall wrapper.
Because it is free I would say it is worth trying but if you drop it because of how grind-y everything is I would not blame you.

I would also love basic gameplay stuff. How is a PvPvE game released in 2022 NOT have a ping system?! Any game with multi really, released after APEX has no excuse for no ping. Also, I wish you could see your partner's outline through walls, also on minimap, but there is no minimap so first I also wish for a minimap and...... . .. . . . . . . etc etc etc.....
