Played a lot of Fights in Tight Spaces. This one is a bit prettier but worse in terms of balance.
There is too much randomness and too few options for control, especially when controlling more than one character. There are a lot of "unfair" enemies and strange and unexplained turn order shenanigans, leading to unexpected instadeaths of your party members, messing up a 2-3h run.
Even though there are multiple character archetypes, and they are indeed a bit different as a playstyle, the cards are the set of Fights in Tight Spaces with about 20% new additions.
And finally, the ally combo system is a neat idea but lacks in execution - most of the time, cluttering your party members so that they can execute the combo will not only waste a few essential move cards but also likely put the characters in a bad position for the following turn. My suggestion for this is to make combos easier to execute (maybe working from diagonals for melee characters) at some kind of drawback - maybe having decreased damage on them. In its current form, it is too much of a high risk - high reward thing.
