I played Ni No Kuni a long time ago, and I still remember parts of it like I played it yesterday. The game really stuck with me. It's a great RPG, though not without its shortcomings. The story and graphics reminded me of a Studio Ghibli movie, which was in no way a bad thing. It may seem geared toward kids, but it packs more than a few deep moments in there. The music was amazing. One of my all-time favorite soundtracks, to be sure. If there were one area where the game falters, I'd have to say it is in the combat. It seems like a Pokemon-style combat system at first, where you control monsters to fight for you. However, your teammates' AI leaves much to be desired. Later in the game, you get a way to make them more manageable, but some fights are still a struggle. Granted that was the only detriment I have to make to an otherwise outstanding game.

Got the Fire Gem thing. Still feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the dudes I'm taming.

Woah. Game seriously opened up now that I can tame dudes. Kind of overwhelming.

All side quests done in Ding Dong Dell. I suppose I should move on to the next area.

Finished all Ding Dong Dell side quests that I know of. Time to go down in the sewers.

Left Ding Dong Dell after doing all the side quests I could do. Now I'm in the next "Dangerous Area" down in the woods.

Last night I played into the second "dangerous area" and saved at the first save point. Longing to play some more.

My obsessive compulsiveness took over a little bit tonight. I ran around looking for the third part of a side quest and never did find it. I did get some sweet new clothes though. Really enjoying this so far.

Played some more tonight and did the first set of side quests. I can tell this is gonna be a long game.
