This is a game in the "lol ur ded" genre. While i'm not a fan of this genre, at least it's gotten a lot better. Back in 1989 Dangerous Dave would only give you 3 lives for the entire game and it had platforms with invisible holes. So many other platformers like Sonic, Mario and The Lion King also only gave you a few lives in an attempt to increase game length by making you replay them. 1001 Spikes is generous in comparison, and seems like solid game for people who are into dying a lot.
Fun 8-bit platformer that has difficulty of old NES games (no, really after world 3 the game becomes difficult for the sake of difficult). You get that feel of reward/pride after beating it though. Has really great music.
1001 Spikes? More like 1 single difficulty spike. This game is pretty fun, quite enjoying it. Really well designed. Each level has taken me somewhere between 10 and 40 attempts until I finally beat it. But then suddenly Stage 4-4, they crank it up to nigh-impossible mode. It took me 275 attempts to beat that level. Then it was back down to normal difficulty. :/ Well, it was still a fun level.
