Taking on the role of an explorer grave robbing Tutankhamun's tomb, the player is chased by creatures such as asps, vultures, parrots, bats, dragons, and even curses, all that kill the player on contact. The explorer can fight back by firing lasers at the creatures, but he can only cover the left and right directions. The player is also endowed with a single screen-clearing "flash bomb" per level or life. Finally, each level has warp zones that teleport the player around the level, which enemies cannot use. To progress, the player collects keys open locked doors throughout the levels, searching for the large exit door. Optional treasures can be picked-up for bonus points. Each level has a timer; when it reaches zero the explorer can no longer fire lasers, and once a level is cleared the remaining time is converted to bonus points. Read less

Excellent Look And Concept, But A Bit Too Hard For Me

Look: 8/10 I love love love this UI with the formatting and the colors and the radar/minimap enter image description here

And the level design gives such vibes of upcoming platformer and adventure games on my backlog ahhhh.

Sound: 8/10 Great sounds, even the sound effects in the title screen. The music is great, etc. Good stuff. Excited for upcoming games' sounds.

And the level design gives such vibes of upcoming platformer and adventure games on my backlog ahhhh.

Sound: 8/10 Great sounds, even the sound effects in the title screen. The music is great, etc. Good stuff. Excited for upcoming games' sounds.

Play: 7/10 As others have noted, the directional movement is clumsy and frustrating, almost like a worse version of maze directional movement than Pac-Man heh... Also, the shooting is silly too (no down or up shooting, and 2 different buttons for left and right). Backtracking was never my favorite part of adventure games heh, and that's basically the adventure element, otherwise it's basically a maze action arcade game.

Feel: 7/10 Originally I was trying to go for highest points and get all the extra treasures, but for the sake of completing all the levels, I decided to focus on collecting the keys and going straight to the door--collecting only readily available extra treasures. I had a good time for a bit, but eventually gave up on Stage 3. Maybe I will complete it some day!

Attachment: 7/10 I feel like I want to get further, and early action-adventures are always memorable because they set the precedent for so many of my later favorite games. But this won't be on the top of my list of priorities.

Completion: to Stage 3 (of 4, I believe, tho they cycle again and again at higher difficulties smh) Playtime: 50mins
