One of the best games I've played lately. The writing is fun, the mysteries, while not particularly hard, are enjoyable, and it fills that Danganronpa-shaped hole in my heart.
It was a solid experience but wished the game would trust you because most of the times it treats you like you were some baby that doesn´t know to play a videogame, holding your hand everytime, but as I say, it was a solid experience, more if you take into account this is a new IP. Both Ch 2 and Ch 4 were my favorite from this game.

The unpredictability of the mysteries of this game, and of the overarching mystery which ties the story together, hinges on the constant flip-flop between rational and nonsensical reasoning. The game throws everything at you with equal importance, whether it is a serious challenge to your deductive reasoning, or the narrative equivalent of a 'losersayswhat'. You might be able to outsmart the smarts, but if you try too hard, you won't be able to out-stupid the stupids. Some might, very fairly, suggest that this makes the game terrible. Those losers will never have a floor-boyfriend.
It brings back the deduction mini games of Danganronpa with a more ambitious structure. It's a semi-open world with side quests. Each chapter has me teaming up with a different detective. Each one has their own unique ability that adds a gimmick to shake things up making each chapter stand out. It's still mainly focused on murder mysteries which is a little disappointing since Master Detectives can be used to solve any kind of mystery. The stories are still compelling though obfuscating just enough so even if I've guessed some of the answers, I still won't know the whole picture until the end. The story is good. It focuses on the damage that hiding the truth can do on a micro and macro level. The characters are fun, but they still managed to create a gross character that creeps on all the women. I don't know why this writer finds that so amusing. They managed to do enough things that are exciting and different that they managed to create their best game since the original Danganronpa.
I needed the first chapter to get a bit used to the pacing in this game. It has a lot in common with Danganronpa, but isn't quite the same. Still the characters are great, the mysteries are fun to solve and the main story kept me curious!
Kanai Ward is an engaging and mysterious area to explore and the mysteries are haunting and show the development of Yuma, a troubled detective with an unknown past. Fighting with truth as a weapon is truly literal. The truth is what matters yet Yuma is faced with impossible moral dilemmas when he pursues it. It’s fascinating to observe and at times a bit heartbreaking. Finishing a mystery by going through the mystery labyrinth is an adventure that ends somewhat bittersweet. It all becomes a familiar pattern that feels good to seep back into. Everything culminates in an epic way. This game was a truly enjoyable experience.
I am having a lot of fun with this game so far, and I think the highest praise I can give it is that I find myself wanting to play it when I have some free time, instead of the "well, I guess I should play for a while and see if I can finish the damn thing" I was getting with a lot of games lately.
Videogames are fun sometimes, y'all!
