Surprisingly Enojyable Sports/Football Game
Preliminary: Wow this is really surprising me. Normally sports games are a pass for me, but this one feels like the NFL Blitz game I loved growing up. The tunes are good, the colors are nice, and the controls surprisingly logical and fun. I love picking plays like in Blitz. It is a huge step up from earlier football games. …
I committed to one touchdown and got it after a rough time where both teams weren't getting far lol, but I'm getting the hang of it. I can stop now but I may go till half time or even a full game. Which would say a lot about the quality of the game! Most likely play for a big longer tomorrow and give it a 3 :-p
Day 2
Welp I did end up finishing the game. I burned out near the end of the 3rd Quarter and just started fast forwarding :-p but the end of game music was great, winning was great, the in-depth stats and feeling of an in-depth gameplay despite being on the NES was great. Really good sports game.
Look: 7.5/10 Nothing spectacular for its year but excellent for NES and great colors/vibe nonetheless.
Sound: 8/10 Surprisingly good
Play: 8/10 A bit of a boost for being my favorite football and favorite sports game so far in the chronology project. Plus impressive for NES
Feel: 7.5/10 Again, a boost for setting excellent precedents for home sports games. And the nostalgia it invoked remembering Blitz
Attachment: 7.5/10 Would be on my list if I ever play early sports games again. Just not sure how often that'll be.
Overall: 7.7/10
