Solid one-time experience
Mechwarrior 5 Clans is a huge upgrade compared to Mercenaries in cinematic department, story, character development, graphics and overall quality. I can recommend it to everyone who is interested in mech-themed action game, but despite all that new Mechwarrior entry left me a little bit dissapointed.

Mechwarrior 5 Clans is a huge upgrade compared to Mercenaries in cinematic department, story, character development, graphics and overall quality. I can recommend it to everyone who is interested in mech-themed action game, but despite all that new Mechwarrior entry left me a little bit dissapointed.
Clans feels like a one-and-done that you put on a shelf after beating the story, while Mercenaries for lots of players felt like very good sandbox experience that you can go through multiple times, cause of the randomly processed missions, satisfying mech customization and fun finance management.
As a huge MW5 Mercs fan who played for 200 hrs+, i'm pretty sure that i would enjoy MW5 Clans more, if developers chose to make it the direct upgrade of Mercenaries, improve on all positives and fix all negatives that it had, like awkward dialogues with barely animated characters, tons of text without any voiceover, etc, but Piranha decided to make Clans different, something turned out to be really good, some other things not really. Overall it's still decent 7/10 game, especially considering it's cheap price.
