Loved this game. The mechanics of the game are great, the challenges are awesome, and the story was entertaining as well. Highly recommend.
Minimum innovations. The only good thing is graphics. This game looks nice and cars look just fantastic. Anyway, good graphics is not important if gameplay is mediocre. Do not buy if you already own good old Undercover, Most Wanted (good old version, not the new) and other NFS games.
Without a doubt so far the worst Need for Speed game i have played. Im not sure how they managed to make a worse game than the tedious Need for Speed 2015 but they did it.
Terrible floaty and way too arcade controls but the worst thing is the lame story told in a couple of lines and every mission feeling unenjoyable but more like a chore to play.
Played through all of the cop story and the missions are all like MMO&RPG side missions requiring you to ram the side of a car out 3 or 5 times and collect a certain amount of money to progress literally lame side missions the entire way through career mode like this and they grow more and more tedious the longer you get into it.
Tried the Racing career mode to Chapter 3 aswell and nothing changes i might say its even worse. Overall theres way too many missions about time trial and Quick Response that you grow tired of the game.
Atleast the cop missions and racing were decent fun in the Hot Pursuit remake which wasnt a too great game itself but still quite enjoyable even though it was crammed …

Atleast the cop missions and racing were decent fun in the Hot Pursuit remake which wasnt a too great game itself but still quite enjoyable even though it was crammed with too many Time Trial&Quick Response missions aswell compared to the more fun Enforcer&Hot Pursuit&Race parts. In this game everything that made that game a bit fun is sucked out of it.
The online portion of the PC version i played is incredibly unstable aswell i managed to get 4-5 errors where AI would get stuck in some way so i had to restart races midway through and the game crashed about 15-20 times in total in the 6-7 hours i played through it. On top of all this theres these frequent server shutdowns/migrations to other servers in the middle of it and AI players warping around after a crash to random new spots making chases with the police a frustrating experience.
Graphics: 7.5/10: Probably the best bit about the game but nothing really special however like NFS 2015 and Hot Pursuit Remastered it suffers from a terrible sensation of seeing ahead of you , look away from the screen to ur minimap and you will crash on oncoming traffic or a side barrier. The sensation of speed in general is awful in this game it feels like you drive faster through the world than the surface should allow you making it feel a level or 2 above way too arcadey ground.
Sound: 6.0/10: Just like NFS 2015 and Hot Pursuit the engine sound in this game completely drowns out the soundtrack which overall feels weaker than those 2 aforementioned games. It just feels overall too much like a bombardment of 2-3 different audio layers that you cant really enjoy any of it. Theres a couple of good tracks but overall weaker OST.
Gameplay: 4.5/10: Absolutely the worst NFS game i have played pretty much a single player mode consisting of chore objectives from rpgs/mmos rather than focusing on enjoyable core racing/pursuit mechanics. Online doesnt even add much to this game its a bunch of random chases if you meet them around the maps but its not really too fun, either you will find someone with a too fast car compared to your current cars or you will meet some guy getting stuck around the terrain taking him out of his misery after seeing how he lags all around the area trying to just play.
Replay Value: 5.0/10: You can play as a cop/racer in separate career modes and they both offer you 3 branches you can focus on like for example the racer can have 1 focusing on Racing another on being pursued by cop cars or a third which is just doing even more random stuff like collecting certain amount of hits on other racers and getting collectables. They all have one thing in common though theyre all tedious chores and doesnt add any variety or incentive to play through them unless youre ok with doing the same stuff in all of them and prefer your games to have the core mechanics/gameplay drowned out by chores7achievement/trophies like sort of missions.
Overall 4.0/10 "BAD"
Completed both the cop and the fugitive Careers, unlocked all the cars. (PS3)
On PC in the US, trying to play this game is impossible. You can't play for more than an hour or two without the entire game crashing. If you want to play a game like this just boot up NFS Hot Pursuit. Much better. I've never had this problem on console, so maybe that's an option, but I think EA is probably not too interested in the fixing anything thats wrong with this 7 year old, would be my guess.
It's a casual new era nfs game with some improvements and nice cars. Cons: 30 fps locked (if you unlocked to more it breaks the game speed) Can experience some trouble with render resolution Online services seems dead. AI seem a little broken Some cars are dlc only Pos: Great map design. Characteristic nfs arcade driving and handling lots of drifting and turbo, nothing realistic nor simulator style.
The only thinngs I like about this game are the handling model (I know a lot of people don't like but I presonally really enjoy it), graphics and the concept which unfortunately wasn't executed well. This game has many issues, when Ghost joined the developer team it kinda felt like the franchise was getting better after all the fuckups that Criterion did but it was still weak. However, I can't deny that I enjoyed playing this game despite how bad it actually is.
First impression: I played the tutorial. I have a wide selection of cars right after the tutorial. And some of them are really good. I even tweaked one of them with upgrades and made it even better. Then I got busted on my first time trial. Obviously something's wrong here. I last played Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012). Although it was very annoying at some parts, at least it offered some kind of progression.
I've played this one off and on over the past year, mainly so that I had some kind of racing game on my PS4. It's not the sort of racing game I'm generally familiar with though -- it's more of an open-world complete random missions type thing. All in all it's okay. I find it really hard to tell when I'm supposed to make a turn for all the races, since it's not on a set track or anything. Glancing down at the tiny map in the corner usually gets me to crash into something. A bit frustrating to be honest, but if you practice enough I'm sure you learn all the roads after a while. Good-looking game, and I appreciate being able to change songs on the fly.
