Can't confirm this, but I feel like the camera is different because there are some platforming sections I found easier and some I found harder. The collision detection and AI seem different because the way some monkeys reacted seemed different from what I remembered. There were a handful of sections where I missed jumps where I felt like I would've made it in the original game. Honestly a pretty faithful remake, I think it comes down to preference for which version is better.
