current temperature: hot! - it's still fun even 50 hours in
cool moment: the previously mentioned red-buffed flying spinning attack
cool sounds/songs: the theme. i think it's the series' theme not just this game but it's rad
snacks: had ravioli w/ spinach cream sauce + la croix

200 hours of playtime.
And yes. My character looks like a golden saint from Saint Seiya.
And yes, the exposed belly on the armor makes no fucking sense, but it's still very pretty.

Heads up!
Only for today we'll have available a quest where we can hunt giant mosswines. they are slow and only have one attack, but can easily one-shot you.

Totally addictive! I never thought I'd say this, but the multiplayer feature is great. There are very few options for trolling, so it's actually really enjoyable to play with random strangers.

I just hit High Rank and my god the gear options exploded. I suddenly have so many choices, and I am not sure where I want to start. Thankfully I invested in crafting and upgrading every tree and tier of the Insect Glaive so I don't have a lot of work for the next tier that just unlocked. I guess …

Read moreI am sufficiently obsessed with this game that I am thinking about my next hunt while I I am not playing. Only a handful of games have ever caused that level of obsession. Normally I am pretty detached from the games I play when I walk away, but I think Monster Hunter World is on the level of Bloodborne and FFXIV for the degree to which I think about strategies and tactics even while I am away from the game. I can't wait to get back in and return to the hunt.
