Finished Platinum for this game. It was a boring grind for the crowns (and the arena quests), but the rest was pretty straightforward. Will try to Plat Iceborne someday.

I can't believe I decided to get Platinum for base game. It took ages but now only the crowns remain. Those will take a while.

I can't wait to hop into iceborne and see all the new things and monsters they added but for now i must grind Vaal Hazaak; that dumb decaying slut, for parts.

The best Monster Hunter experience

This is it! This is the best Monster Hunter game ever made. It has everything that makes the Monster Hunter series unique, but refined so everyone can enjoy it on some level. Monsters are creative and the battle system is amazing. The hunt/forge/grind loop is addictive even with its slow pacing. Sure, it might feel too slow at times and …

Sure, it might feel too slow at times and the story can be ignored at best, but that doesn't make it less impressive. I can't recommend this game enough.

I don't mind doing expeditions along with Resource Center quests which I like to do. I just think that there could be a better balance in the main quests between hunting, gathering, exploring, etc, so that the player does not spend the whole game hunting monsters.

Loving this game. This is my second full playthrough of a Monster Hunter game (after playing 4U on 3DS) and I absolutely love it. I just sunk 200 hours into this and waiting for Iceborne!

This title lacks the colour, edge and content of previous titles for the 3DS, BUT it brings a whole new level of graphic fidelity, polish, QoL improvements and stylishness to the table.

Amazing soundtrack and atmosphere, tons of fun with friends or solo.

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne beta coming to PS4

Capcom is giving PlayStation 4 owners a preview of the Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter: World in a two-part beta test, the first of which kicks off this weekend on June 21.

The first Monster Hunter: World Iceborne beta will be exclusive to PlayStation Plus subscribers, and will run from Friday, June 21 at 3 a.m. PDT/6 a.m. EDT through Monday, June 24 at 3 a.m. PDT/6 a.m. EDT. The second beta will be open to all PS4 owners, and run from Friday, June 28 at 3 a.m. PDT/6 a.m. EDT through Monday, July 1 at 3 a.m. PDT/6 a.m. EDT.

Players do not need to own a copy of Monster Hunter: World to take part.

Capcom says the beta will offer three quests: the Great Jagras hunt from the original Monster Hunter: World; a battle against Banbaro, the new horned brute wyvern; and a hunt for Tigrex, which returns to the franchise in Iceborne. Players will have access to 14 weapons and new tools, like the Clutch Claw grapple mechanic for the Slinger.

After watching folks play Monster Hunter: World on Youtube for many hours, I finally took the plunge and started the eat > hunt > upgrade > repeat loop for myself. At first I thought I thought I was doing something wrong with how long the hunts would take, but after a few tutorial videos and help from a skilled friend, I’ve been slicing my way through and enjoy my time doing it. I’m still overwhelmed with the systems in the game, but so far I’ve been able to ignore most of them and still be successful. Here’s to hoping that success continues!

The new Witcher collaboration against an Ancient Leshen is no joke. Is a hard, long and grueling fight that requieres strategy, speed and lots and lots AND LOTS of healing items. I was able to defeat it with an amazing team of randos and it was great.

Monster Hunter World is a rarity - a series known only for its difficulty and unapproachable nature suddenly becomes one of the most approachable and fun games this year!

As a hunter exploring the New World, you get the chance to hunt old and new monsters alike, with new weapon mechanics, new monsters, and plenty of quality of life changes. At its core, little has actually changed. No new weapons, and no special mechanics will jump out. Mounting works relatively the same, and monsters are still killed and crafted into parts and decorations with the exception of some randomly dropped ones.

As for the monsters? They are more lifelike than ever, nearly realistic in their gorgeous animations and natural behaviors. Whether it be turf wars or searching for a meal, Monster Hunter has never reached this level of ecosystem that it has in World. There aren't too many, but so much love has been put into them, from Great Jagras to Nergigante, that you won't be missing too much content. Save for a mostly empty endgame.

The shining star and what makes this a game for everyone, however, is the quality of life improvements. No more limited Whetstones! You can walk while you drink! Mantles to help you for a limited time! Eating while you're on a quest! These things seem simple, almost unnecessary, but they make the game a much smoother and far more palatable experience. The game is still difficult, much more so as new content is always introduced from Kulve Taroth to Lunastra to Arch Tempered monsters, and while it's a long way from HR 50 to the final quest unlock at HR 100, hunters will find the initial journey a blast to play. Find your friends and have a hunt!

Is it REALLY a new Monster Hunter Game?

I love Monster Hunter. I've played a few of them before and really perfected 4, but that was years ago. After I found out about a PS4 Monster Hunter, I was PUMPED. Playing the game, however, I felt like they hadn't really changed anything at all. It's still Monster Hunter, just bigger. The controls are STILL clunky, so clunky and unresponsive that it ruined my time playing the game MANY times. I love difficult games, but not when it's because of glitchy, clunky controls, dumb camera angles, poor lock-on system. This game would really a 2.5/5 to me, but I'm sure to newcomers of Monster Hunter, this game would be a bit more enjoyable.
